That. Is. Awesome.
I would love to get that if only for the "ooooh" factor. Don't suppose anyone's shipping those to the us?

Actually it really does make a pc more secure since it would render password hacks unusable. I am sure some people might be talented enough to get around this but if you are really paraniod this would be a great alternative to traditional logins. That is untill someone just chops of your finger if they want into the system :p

I'm all for making life easier, but the day the call me to plant a chip in my hand is the day I rip off my own hand, so to speak!

You might as well shove a leash up my arse if you do that!

I just don't see the need for something like this. Anyone who puts sensitive material on removable media such as a MS is stupid and deserves to get it stolen, IMHO!

Actually, some of the sophisticated finger print authentication systems check for a pulse, and the proper body temperature. So simply chopping off someone’s finger will not give them access.

So if you were exercising rigorously or if it was cold outside and you didn't have gloves, you'd have to wait for your body and finger temp to get back to normal? Anyways, what's so hard about warming a severed hand to 98.6 degrees and faking a pulse? Just wire a balloon into the hand and down the index finger and blow into the balloon at varying rates. Or, if you're not so adventurous, you could simply stick something in the hand and tap with it. OK, that is a bit nasty.
