n2ifp, have you tried that product out? I'd be hesitant about it damaging my screen.

Yes, and awhile back it was very popular here. It hides minor scratches and makes the screen look like new. Tek Phreak originally put me on to it. Use common sense and not let liquid pour into the sides of LCD screen.

Yeah, n2ifp is the man!!!! mainly cause he took my advice :) so anyone that does that rocks in my book. Seriously guys it makes the screen look brand new for about 2-3 days. So if you keep reapplying it regularly it'll protect it and keep it looking great. If more people figure out about this product i would be wary of buying a pda used, because i can make the screen look brand new by polishing it up, even though w/in a week it wont look so brand new.... But get it, it's available at a lot of auto stores!

I'll look into and try it out on my older SJ20 before getting it near my NX70V.

I am pretty happy with this product. I have used it for all kinds of plastic lens products - cell phones, sunglasses, etc.

One of the main reasons I like it is that when you apply it, it reduces the static charge so dust does not become attracted to your Clie. This prevents dust from scratching the glass. Also, the stylus moves smoother across the screen after the plexus 'wax' treatment.

I don't think the plexus is available in my country... any similar products? or what kind of product should I look for?

Not so good for watching video (hazy), but far better (for me - YVMV) in an office setting.

I have often posted my praise for Zymol. I have never used the product n2ifp has linked to, but you will have no need to try anything else after using Zymol.

Zymol is an all natural car polish. It is very mild and will not harm your screen in any way. I have used it for a few years on all of my devices, and there are posts all over the Palm community singing the praises of this product.

Just clean your screen with your favourite eyeglass cleaner and softcloth (I recommend microfibre). Then apply a thin coating of Zymol with a qtip careful not to let it reach right into the corners (this will not harm anything...can just be a touch more difficult to remove). Wait about 5 minutes for the Zymol to haze, just like when you apply car polish, then buff with a soft cloth (Not the same one you used to clean!). Your screen will be clean, smoothe and better than new. Also, virtually zero friction on the Stylus, making writing very effortless. Depending on how you use your Clie, the application will last for 3-7 days. Zymol can be found at any Canadian Tire, or Pep Boys in the US, it cost about $25 Canadian, but will last almost forever because such a tiny amount is required for each application. I have had my current bottle for almost 2 years!!!

Anyways...thats my recommendation!

another question... how scratchable is the metal surface? I have something that looks like a scratch in one of the metal surfaces of the body... any idea how to clean it?

Sometimes it does look like a scratch, especially in the top corners of the nx hinge. All you have to do is lick your fingertip and wipe off that dirt. I thought it was wearing out, but I rubbed it and it came off.

I know that dirt you are talking about, but I have some other scratches on mine as well. Several, in fact. Wish I could get those out...
