Okay- I know this has been posted before, but I just want to settle this. The TG-50 and the NX70v are ment for different people. The TG50 was ment to replace the T665C, not the NX70v.
The TG50 is ment to compete with the likes on the palm Tungsten T and both have a similar feature set. The NX70v was ment to compete with Pocket PC's, and other high end devices.
The NX70v is geared at people who want a true multi-media device. The TG50 is for people who want a "normal" PDA with a basic feature set. I, as one own the NX70V because I don't want to simply organize my life, I want a handheld multimedia device, thus I am a power user. That is the reason I have an NX-70V.

Hmmm, I don't think that's entirely true.
First, I don't think Sony makes any of its devices to compete with another device. I think Sony takes a shotgun approach to its products--make as many different kinds as possible to appeal to as wide a range as possible. So I think it's a little presumptuous to say the TG50 was ment to compete with the TT. I would hesitate to put any Sony in the same category as a Palm product; Sony simply offers too many features (at a lower price!) to say their devices are comparable to Palm's.
Is the NX70V meant to compete with Pocket PC's? Nah. I have an iPaq, and I wouldn't put my old NR70V next to it, let alone the NX.
I do agree the NX70V is geared at people who want multi-media. But the TG50 is far from a "normal PDA with a basic feature set." I would use those words to describe, say, a Palm Zire or one of the black-and-white Clie SJ-20 somethings. The TG50 has all the multi-media capabilities of the NX sans a low-quality camera and a few extra pixels. Believe me, I use my TG50 for more than just "to simply organize my life."
"I want a handheld multimedia device, thus I am a power user." That's pretty funny.
I think the bottom line is if you don't mind the extra weight, bulk, and annoyance of flipping the screen whenever you use it, then by all means, get an NX. If those are issues for you, and you don't mind a 320x320 screen (which is still a higher resolution than many pocket PCs!) and being without cheesy PDA camera, then the TG50 is an excellent choice.

I do think the TG50 is aimed at the mobile professional, who wants to use the keyboard to type SMS messages. My impression and opinion of the NX (and the old NR70V I had) is it is aimed at the crowd that wants the wow factor. I'm the kind of person that not only needs one but two PDAs. Right now my NX70V is my main brain for almost everything, but when I don't want to take the glitz or the "wow" magnet I take my trusty SJ20. I normally take my NX70V with me everywhere I go now, and with my Gadget Pants I have big enough pockets to hold my NX70V. I've only used the SJ20 a couple of times since getting the NX70V, but I plan on keeping it as my backup unit.
As for competing with Pocket PCs, I think Sony's Mid (TG series) and high-end (NX, NZ) are aimed at competing with PPCs in those price ranges. Where the PPC's have the upperhand is now with the low-end, where there are $299 and $199 models with the same basic OS and media features of the high-end models. It's going to be an interesting year with PDAs, and I'm glad to have a company who's here to stay.

I'll tell you what's a power user--my house! Got an E-bill for $340 this winter, and I kept the thermostat set at 62 degrees! I had ice-sickles hanging off my armpits.

I think that the TG50 counts as a high-end considering it has more features than Palm's high-end TT. But thing you have to remember is that right from the outset Sony made it clear that they weren't making simply PDAs. they were making PEOs I think they called im...Personal Entertainment Organizers. I think ALL they're PDAs count as upper-end.
Oh and, I think a power user counts as any of use who go onto these forums. I know quite a few PDA users who have never even installed third-party software on their PDAs let alone talked to other people about them . Boring if you ask me:o
