I doubt if they will fix it. My brother, who owns the PSP, doesn't want old school games anyway, so he sticks with 2.0 and higher. You have your UX50 for the Web, he doesn't :D ;)

I don't know what games you are playing, but in the options menu, you can change the cpu speed, if you change it to 333MHz, it should work normel.

well old school GBC and GB games are fine. but when u play GBA games, the lag comes in and the game is so slow, i played m ario and he was moving in slow motion. and yes, it was already clocked to 333mhz, frame rate is around 6 and still sluggish.

Looks like you need to read up some more on emulators.

Not all of them work perfectly.

Bah. I didn't get a PSP to play old games. I bought it for UMD and portable PS2-style games. When homebrewing affects that, it isn't worth using just so I can play old GBA games (which my DS does much better anyways).

Upgrade for the browser and ability to play the new games. I have yet to see Homebrew offer me something more than what Sony does with the updates.

Eh... It's not like they gave that much anyway...
It was funny because the biggest wait of the summer was for an update for a cellphone input browser that wasn't all that good. [Games? Anyone?]

Ironically my brother almost exclusively plays homebrew emulatied games on his PSP. We have like, 3 UMB games and he *never* plays them.

<rant alert!>
The problem is there just aren't many games for the PSP that we consider good.
I HATE playing *anything* in a first-person perspective on such a small screen, but 90% of their games are such things!
The only UMDs I don't hate are Mercury and Lumines. They're fun.

Puzzle games are good starters, but we also want good shoot'em'ups like Jets'n'Gunz, Raptor, Xenon 2, Tyrian and the like! Platformers like Sonic, Mario etc.! Scrolling Beat'em'ups like Streets of Rage, Double Dragon (But not like Fighting Force *shudder*). RPGs like ChronoTrigger, Shining Force, Final Fantasy 7!
Y'know, stuff that isn't just the same crap we get on computers and consoles but smaller!

All I seem to see on the PSP are 3D driving games, FPS and *vomit* 'sports games'.
We had one 'RPG', Untold Legends. Jeez....

And the cost of these mediocre games is ludicrous! (Although with XBox360 games hitting the £60+ mark I doubt it'll get any better soon...)

Untold is terrible due to the enormous ammount of loading.
I think this is why Nintendo is winning... they, for some unknown reason, know exactly how far to keep handheld technology behind console technology [look at gamegear, ect]

hehe... i bought my psp last march (first day it came out) and until now, i only had one game, it was the gretzky bundle game. now that i downgraded i find that i play more the psp more. i mean, there's like sooo many old games u can play compared to only a few UMD games that are fun.

The only game I like on PSP besides my homebrew is Ridge Racer. I didn't like GTA, the ghosting was terrible! Long live homebrew!!!

Yeah, Ghosting is a HUGE problem too... I had previously forgotten about that... thanks for bringing more amo to the party...
