OK...
we get the point that some of you think the NZ is thick... you said the same about the NX... we know also that the T or the S series is very compact and thin... that's good... it's what you prefer.
We've had enough posts on how much of a brick, ugly, thick, huge, gross, heavy, and whatever else some of you think about it.
Some of us, however, like it.
So assume that it is NOTED by everyone on the forum that some of you think it's big.
Now please stop wasting bandwidth and server space.
Thanks ! :)

I think that many Clie devotees see the NZ as a mongrel/hybrid PDA/Camera, and a sign that Sony may be taking us down the wrong path. If you think it is a device that will suit your needs, great. If you think that you'd like an exceptional PDA instead of a PDA with a mediocre digital camera that increases the weight and form factor, then you're also entitled to your opinion, that's what these forums are for. Exchange ideas, information, experiences and opinions in a constructive manner.

I don't think of it as Sony taking us down the wrong path. I feel that Sony is just opening a new side-road. Another option in very comprehensive set of PDAs.

I agree... that's what I am saying essentially, just that people keep saying the same thing over and over again, and while it is their opinion and they are entitled to it, I'm sure that everyone who reads these boards know that people think it's big.
ballistic: I see not only you have the Newton logo, but the circa 1980s Apple skull and crossbones :) Sweet.

Agree 100%.
I think what the original poster was going for was the constant and repetitive bashing from the same people. Ok - you don't like it - cool. Say your piece and let it go. Let's move on.
One non-NZ fan begun his reign of terror by posting a 1443 word thread the first time, 813 the 2nd and 551 the 3rd and final time.
That's called overkill.
In the 10 days of posting (I think 10) since the release information, I have had my intelligence and my manhood challenged
 OK - that's more overkill.
Never once from the NZ bashers- in all the posts about the NZ they've unloaded (and I've read all of them) did anybody bother to find out why we liked it. Nor did they acknowledge the fact that for a few of us, it's going to be the Clie we buy, or move to.
They could learn alot by your example.

Its still big, but I am not saying its a bad thing. I know most people might get turned off by the size, but I do know some tech people who cant wait to get them.
But to me, its just too big. Thats why I know have a tungsten and gave up my NR.

I wasn't trying to slam you, ikaris so if it seems that I did, I apologize. I agree 100% that there are way too many meaningless, repetitive, unconstructive posts in these forums. I do think that it would be impossible to stop that type of behavior, and to try to police the threads will only lead to frustration and a lot of unneccesary p*ssing contests.
I'm a strong believer in backing up your opinion(s) and healthy, constructive debate.
Thanks for the kind words about my avatar, I think it says a lot about my PDA philosophy.

Don't know how you do it TB. I tried the Tungsten when it first came out.
Great machine but just too small for me. It's too little of a machine and I'm too big of a guy. My ring finger is a size 14 if that gives you any idea. Combine that with too much workout (gymrat) with my total lack of grace and agility (read: klutz) and I just pictured myself buying a Tungsten and killing it within the first 24 hours.
At least with a NZ and I stand a fighting chance :)

I see your point.
it is a small device, but I can handle it (only a size 9 1/2 ring finger).

If the NZ is only one branch on a HUGE tree of Clies (can you say Sequoia?), I will breath a sigh of relief. I can see the functionality of a 2MP on PDA, and many will find it useful.
I don't mind carrying around the right tools for the job. I'd rather carry my PDA with me all of the time without noticing its size/weight. I will also carry an exceptional digital camera with optical zoom and 5MP resolution, like the DSC-f717, that can share my MS media (can't wait for the Pro capacities, but I shudder at the $$) when I need to take really good photos.
I don't want to see the Clie become an all-in-one PDA/Camera/Wireless Internet Terminal that does not excel in each function, that compromises too much in each area.
I will reserve final judgement on its size/weight until I get one in my hands. After playing around with my Newton, my NX seems like it will float away!
Edited for Typos!

Any points for being the son of an LE? I carry a 4-D cell for a reason...
As to the other, constructive criticism has been sadly lacking. Why some so continually impugn it's size and nothing else escapes me. Kinda lame, really. DIfferent strokes for different folks. I will say one thing, there has been far less anticipation of the NZ than the NX. That board was abuzz the whole month before it was released! Of course, a new OS came along with it as well, unknown CF slot abilities, etc.
I still really like it. I'm not 100% til I get some hands on with it. I have a GPS connector cable that I believe will still work, but wanna be sure (be a good excuse to get a Bluetooth GPS, I guess!). I 'd like to be able to use my Circuit City service warranty and "trade in" the NX to take some of the bite off the purchase price. Summer's coming and the mad money could be spent elsewhere!!!

Not at all !
I understand how people feel about Sony taking the "Wrong path" and yes, I'd rather have more RAM and better apps than a 2 MP camera...
but when I bought my NX, I loved it but I felt it was only missing a few things... things that I saw in the iPaq 5400 series, like integrated Bluetooth and removable battery...
Now the NZ has what I was lacking in the NX... and with a little tweaking and a memory stick, I can make up for the lack of RAM... I mean, it's tweaking and customizing part of what makes PDAs fun ?

It is not the size for me...I think it is a little big, but not much bigger then thx NX..it is the $800 that gets me...
and I wish it came in silver, because since it is black wife will know i got a new pda, when i went from nr to nx she had no clue.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA
Whoo.... ok...
well, considering that the NX came out in dark grey after the original light silver model came out, anything is possible.
I'd want mine in ferarri red ! :)
