At the office I've been using Outlook Calendar for my appointments, since it lets me send those appointments to other people. This being the case I thought it would be useful to sync my LD with Outlook. However, I don't want to sync the other PIM apps (Contacts, Todo's and Memo) with Outlook.

Does anyone know if there's any way to sync the calendar with Outlook while leaving the rest to be synced with Palm Desktop?

A search at palm.com/support on Outlook found this:

Synchronizing partially with Palm Desktop, partially with Outlook

What if you want to mix the synchronization between Palm Desktop and Outlook? For example, your Tasks synchronize with Palm Desktop and everything else with Outlook. Well, the good news is that it may be possible ... but not with the software supplied by default with your handheld. You'll need to install a more sophisticated conduit set for Outlook which allows you to select which conduit links you wish to make to Outlook. At the time of writing, Intellisync Handheld Edition provides this capability.

Have no opinion as I do not sync with Outlook at all.
