I only get that on my NR70 when I reset. I don't know what it means though.

My T665 did the same thing for a while when I first got it. I don't remember when it stopped, but it doesn't do it anymore. I really have no explanation for it, but I can tell you that after 9 months, everything's still working fine and the sound from it is still good. So, I wouldn't worry too much.

Yes, there's also a "popping" sound everytime I soft reset.

Strange but true I just noticed my T-665 making a popping noise when turning it on and off a few days ago. I was thinking about posting here about it but this thread already existed!
I hope it's not a problem and I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this.

Mine starting doing the speaker pop about two months ago, when it was really cold around here (temps in single digits). It has since disappeared again. Is there a link -- not sure.
I also was getting strange pink marks on my screen when the Clie got cold.

I wonder if it is a speaker test of some sort during start-up or reset that just happens ot be more noticable under some conditions?
I have also heard it, but since it always seems to happen in fairly predictable situations and not getting more frequent or louder, or longer lasting, etc., I have tended to assume it was normal.

This is really strange but the popping noise has now stopped on my T-665. The weather is much warmer and less humid now than it was last week. I wonder if that had something to do with it?

Cold temps usually means more static electricity. Which is more likely to affect these types of things than the temp.

On the other hand, mine is still making them if I have to reset, and it is getting more humid.
I wonder if the programs loaded affect the start-up process?

I didn't change anything and the popping noise just stopped on its own so I doubt if it's anything to do with the programs themselves.

Both my NR-70V and my wife's T665 have the popping sound too whenever a soft reset is performed but I never really bother about it. If someone have an explanation to this, I would like to know too. Thanks.
