Something's broken. iPodder brought a 0kb file and streaming gets a 404.

I would like to thank Josh Curry for allowing us to use his TeamSpeak server and chew up his bandwidth for an hour and a half.

I posted the show notes while I was waiting for the show to upload. It should be fine now.

I thought Jeff Kirvin was still in hiding after having been chased down and beaten by a mob of torch-wielding Clie users?

We were all recording this show from "secure locations". I can also asure everyone that no Clie users were harmed in the recording of the 1SRC podcast 55.

I prefer the term "diplomatic" myself. :)

Hi, personally, I enjoyed this podcast immensely, and although I don't agree with some of Jeff's opinions, me being a Clie user. But nonetheless, I was still sorry to see him go, the 1src podcast just wasn't the same without Jeff Kirvin (No offense to you, Alan, I also enjoy your podcasts btw.)
All my favorite 1src podcasts feature Alan and Jeff together, you two have a certain chemistry that's hard to beat, especially when you both go off topic! Alan as the "diplomat", and Jeff as the ermmmm..... "feisty" one? Maybe Jeff can come back from his sabbatical and you two can make this a regular thing???
Pretty please?? :)

I'll be a guest on the show. A Mac and Tapwave Zodiac user got to go in somewhere!

We all talked about this a little bit after I stopped recording. Maybe we can work a panel-type show in more often. I know a lot of you enjoy the shows with guests and the Jeff-Alan shows in particular. Keep listening to the 1SRC podcast, you never know who might pop-up.

I agree the best 1src podcasts have been the Jeff and Alan, you do have a chemisty that's undeniable. I am glad to hear Tyler has gotten a Treo, better late than never:) Listening to the podcast right now.

Jeff is right about the Treo being the one and only. I had a TX, I just sold it. I loved having a large hi-res+ screen, wifi, but once you go Treo there is no alternative. I am back to being a 1 device Palm user. Treo 650 all the way, I will be upgrading to the Treo 700p when it becomes available from Sprint just so I can have EV-DO.

I agree with Jeff, if you're in the market for a Treo go Sprint. The network is great, and you can't beat the data prices, they are the lowest. EV-DO prices are the same as the Sprint PCS Vision prices, unlimited data is 15.00 a month unlimited EV-DO data. Treo 700p here I come:)

Another very interesting podcast - lots of very informed commentary. Looks like Palm may have finally got the balance right between "cash cows" and "rising stars" and does not really have any "dead dogs". Can't wait for the Linux tablet/Mobile Manager.

I got my stone ready, where's Krivin? LOL. ;)
Glad to hear you in the podcast again Kirvin, although I almost vomitted after hearing the easy use of the Treo keyboard but thats just me lol. Seriously, glad to hear from you again.
I think Palm is seperating Palm from Treo for sure. Why do you think you have a Treo and Palm store at www.Palm.com or they have a website called www.seeTreo.com.
As for me, I'm still using my UX and still living the CLIE life. I want to see what the antenna-less phone will look like. I'll be looking out for it as well as other devices with widescreen/wide keyboards.

Great Podcast guys. I too want to see the Jeff Alan Tyler show on a regular basis. Perhaps the end of days is upon us if jjf is going TX.<g>
Seriously, I take it the chat for Christmas Eve is off. BTW, you do realize that the next Saturday is New Years Eve?

Amazing. My CLIE is still alive and with my mod, its more alive then ever. Even more so than any Palm device you can buy now. :) LOL. My Document Viewer (Picsel Viewer) is great and fast. Someone forgot to mention it ;).
EDIT: YAY Tyler say it :)
YES HATE MAIL WILL START NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it might be called NetFront OS or GarNetFront OS. LOL. I think the name NetFront might become the OS name.

I think I'll wait to see what the final specs are on the Treo 700p. The Treo 700 w and p will command a premium price that I may not be willing to pay. If the price is too high, I may just have to go with a Treo 650. For me, it will be an analysis of cost, hardware specs, and software features. The 700 and the 650 (running Palm OS, I won't be getting the WM edition) are going to be, in my estimation, close in features. I don't expect rafts of new Treo 650 owners to jump on the 700p. There will be little incentive. Treo 600 and earlier customers will be targetted for upgrade as well as Palm OS handheld customers.
I'm still under contract with Verizon until October, but I think I'll make the switch to Sprint so I can get the unlimited date plan much cheaper than I can with Verizon regardless of which Treo I end up with.

Alan definitely go Sprint for your Treo, I have a Sprint Treo 650. I will be upgrading to the 700p for EV-DO. I do love my Treo 650 though.

I have discovered that I can upgrade my phone to a Treo 650 (refurb) for $120.00 and two more years of finnacial bondage to Cingular. I love my TX and would still go with the two bodied solution, which would tend toward not getting it. OTOH, I would like to have the flex that the Treo 650 promises. Or should I wait for 2006?
Any thoughts?

Actually, we did mention Picsel Viewer. I even crabbed about not being able to really do anything with it since the Clie NZ90 only has 11MB of RAM. Sheesh! That's helpful. (Directed at Sony, not JA.)

Hmmm...wasn't that about the price points for the Treo 650 when it first hit the streets? I seem to recall similar pricing.
