Is there a way, without a memory stick, to xfer an image from my clie to my computer?

I'm not sure but have you tried Sony's Image Converter? This tool was included in some Cliés may be opens/converts the pdb image files, you can reach your files in the backup folder of your account (PalmDesktop installation directory).

You might as well get a Memory Stick. You might need it later ;)
