hi,

i received my brando cradle yesterday, tried to mod it to fit a a battery in it. It sure is allot smaller then i thought it would be. i want to put my old pda's battery inside the cradle wich fits like a charm, its a 1400 mah 3.7 v battery from panasonic wich used to be my battery for my cassiopeia e-125 device. now i'm stuck, i don't want to mod mu ux self, so i figured i did the following, i connect the battery v+ to pin 1 and the minus to pin 4, like the charging cradle does, i would have expected it to lit the charging led, and the status in my pda is charging. I read somewhere on a battery mod forum that i must disconnect pin 2 within the ux and redirect it to the battery v+ , but like i said, i don't want to open my ux. I opened my cassiopeia once to overclock, and nothing good came out of that idea so i ask you guys, is there a way around?

thx in advance,
btw nice batterymods, you sure are all ux dedicated!

No problem, what i'm gonna do is the following, i'm already doing it by the way.
I'm gonna buy 8 AAA rechargable batteries 1100 mah. and built them in the bradno case, that way i get 6 volts, with a diode i should easilly punch it down to 5 volts, and then the pda will think it's an external source.

I hope this will work

Hi Kitara, DONT!!!!

Youll prolly scrw your handled with a toohigh volage. Either use a LM 7805 for crating the 5V(linar reglator, burns excess volatge to hat) or use a switching converter like the ones offered at Dallas Maxim's!
