First of all, mods can feel free to delete this or ask me to if they would like, since it is very much off topic. I felt, however, that a couple people might need to hear this.
When someone spams the board, the response is to tell the mods, and leave it alone. You are only spamming the front page further by replying to the spam.
When someone says something completely off topic, racially insensitive, or otherwise, tell the mods. Dont reply! You will only add fuel to the fire, as well as spam the boards.
When someone says something stupid on the forums, tell them about it. Send a PM, etc. If it is really bad, tell the mods. If it is blatantly wrong and has some technical significance, post a correction.
I think the mods will agree that these are probably the best methods of keeping the forums clean, and if the mods decide to keep this post up, feel free to respond.
I wrote this because I noticed some racially insensitive material on the forum this morning, flagged it for the mods, and left it alone. I come back half an hour later, and there are 6 responses, and it is at the top of the front page. This is not keeping a clean forum, and since the mods cant always be there, we have to take measures to keep the forums clean ourselves.
