Does anyone have informations of when or if Sony will release an OS update with the new Graffiti 2?

Why do so many people seem concerned about this? Do they hate Graffiti but think Graffiti 2 will work miracles? Personally, I have no plans to do anything. I'll use Graffiti 2 when I buy my next PDA.

Inquiring mind wants to know. :)

I'm already using JOT. And since I loved it very much, i'd really like to see it integrated into the OS.

I downloaded the Palm OS 5.2 simulator from the Palm website, and really, Graffiti 2 isn't much different than the first Graffiti. There wasn't an option to write anywhere on the screen. you still have to use the Graffiti area. And beyond that, except for 4 letters taking longer to write, the only big difference is how the punctuation and capitalization is done. Some stuff was nice, but nothing revolutionary.

I think it'll be awhile yet, for an udate to come out. There is a pending lawsuit, so who knows. Everything is subject to change. I am strictly a keyboard man myself. So if they did away with Graffiti altogether, it wouldn't bother me.

This is a change Palm has wanted to make for some time, now that baseline PDAs are 33Mhz. The lawsuit is only hurrying things along. Palm has already announced that they're doing this regardless of how the lawsuit turns out.

When was the last time Sony offered an OS upgrade for any of there clies? I remember the 710 upgrade about a year ago and the massive upgrade for the S300 from 3.51S to 3.52S but that's it I think. they know how addicted we are to new hardware so we'll just buy new systems when it comes out and they have a handheld that meets our needs/wants. If I dropped $40 on Jot I'd be pretty ripped that they will be giving it out in their next OS update....

I'm sticking with TealScript for now (have used it since I can remember) and when I upgrade to NZ Jot will hopefully be part of the OS.

Remember, Grafitti 2 is based on Jot, it isn't Jot. It doesn't give you the ability to write anywhere on the screen, and from what I've heard, it sounds like there are fewer software incompatibilities with Jot than Grafitti (this is completely guesses at this point, however).
