hotsync stopped working, now can't reinstall please help!

My pda stopped syncing (it would terminate because it said an application on the desktop had stopped it from proceeding). I decided to uninstall and reinstall palm desktop for clie, but now i can't install it again. It gets to 16% of the installation and then an error message comes up and it just doesn't proceed. Please advise as my pda is useless without hotsync!

It sounds like you have problems unrelated to your PDA and its desktop software with your PC. What OS is your desktop? Run an up-to-date virus checker. If Win ME or XP, try running system restore to a restore point when your hotsync was working.
