I've done a lot to my UX over the time I've had it and want to share some of the mods that I favor the most on the hardware side.

surpise that all your mod without any soldering :O

:) Yep. The only soldering I did was Pin 3 of the EB40 because the wire broke off and you can see I did a terrible job. Look at the blue wire in the third picture from the bottom. I don't use Pin 3 but I soldered it long time ago when I was trying to fix my EB40 motherboard.

I have a question for both of you
I already have this mod done a long time (thanks HIPPO)
but im planning on moving my two th55 batteries and putting them in the bottom of this
http://cgi.ebay.com/Charging-Case-for-Sony-CLIE-PEG-UX50-UX40-UX50-UX40_W0QQitemZ5841942880QQcategoryZ48667QQcmdZViewItem
then im going to place the inside of a T630 in the top of the case
there is not enough room in the bottom for two th55 batteries and one T630 battery so im going to have to power T630 from modded power supply stepping down the power
what exactly do i need to step down the power from the modded power supply and can you see any problems in having the ux and t630 sharing power
awaiting your wisdom

I really doubt it. I have a Brando Charging case and its really thin. Its basically leather covering a piece of cardboard or a sturdy material and a USB + some wiring that connects to two pins.

Hmm, not sure then. I haven't cut my case and mine is different then that one. You can try it but you will really need to reenforce the case for the batteries. You might end up with bulky parts in the case.

Yeah i was thinking about that i might use some epoxy resin and create my own thin protective layer under the batteries and moulded between them

People think that my UX is a Nintendo DS or a mini-laptop.

Good news, I just saved a whole bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico. LOL
But seriously, I used my UX with its new layout Friday as well as today. My handheld was off the charger my 7:30AM on Friday and stayed of the whole day and night until 8:21AM on Saturday to 8:25AM. I forget to charge it so I tried to give it a little more power. The quick charge helped but not a lot. As I went on the road, the battery decreased to 88% but then stayed there. My UX/EB voltage must have been at that level. For when I played movies and music it decreased a little more but took time to. When I got home at 3:30PM today, I placed my device on the charger. It was at 53% and had 3.97v in both UX and EB40. This is amazing. My device was able to last two days without a full charge. On Friday, I really was beating down the battery with videos and music but it stayed at 100% for the most part. The lowest it went down to was 98% then back to 100%. This is the true power of the UX. If Sony had did these things to the UX, it would have been the best device to get out-of-box. No mods would be required. Sad how regular users like us know how to fix a device SONY creates.

From my EB40 mod, I am now able to use my WiFi MS card for more than one minute and sitll have 100%. My device has been connected to my home LAN network via WiFi for about 15 minutes and I'm still at 100%. The WiFi card extracts more power than the actual built-in WiFi does. So Imagine the possibilities.

EDIT: Fixed issue. Forget to redirect wire in the EB40 from Pin 1 to Pin 2.

Do you mean your not using pin 2 or 3
Thanks

Not using Pin 3. Where was the mixup? I drew the picture and released it with the positive wire still connected to Pin 1 when it supposed to be to Pin 2. That's what I was saying.

Here is a clearer picture of my UX configuration...
I switched back to the UX battery due to after a full charge, my Running Power battery was reading 4.19v.

I've added the EB40's external connectors as an indictator as to where the internal and EB batteries are in voltage. I rerouted them to charge my UX via the cradle but found this to be dangerous due to the USB mod. I felt like I would forget the USB was connected one day and send 10v to my UX or someone in my family would not think the USB was charging my device and place it on the cradle. This voltage indication mod that I did is dangerous as well if connected to my cradle so I just put it way.
