One way to do it would be back everything up to the skies and do a hard reset. Then in future use something like Photoskin to install skins (works for both grafitti and status areas) - because it will enable you to easily revert to the default skin. There may be an easier/less frightening way to achieve the first part of this, so wait around and see if someone knows... good luck...

Actually, now I think about it, why not try installing Photoskin anyway...

and see whether that helps with getting the default back?
Can't you just change it back with the silk changer button on the bottom of the screen?

I wouldn't have thought so: I believe that relates to silklets (very elusive plug-ins to add functionality to the graffiti area) rather than the basic skin itself. I may be wrong, though.

I did the hard reset and it was back to normal but when hotsync'n it still loaded the same pic into the grafitti area.
any more thoughts?

No reason to do any of those things. What you need to do is a WARM RESET. That's where you hold the up arrow on your keyboard down while resetting. When the palm logo pops up release the up arrow and press cntrl H on your keyboard then go to clie files and delete the skin. Soft reset and you will be back to normal.
Good Luck!!
