What would you like in you ultimate next-gen PDA? :p

Cobalt shell running on pocket Linux
VGA screen
1Ghz Processor
32Gb of Flash RAM
Bluetooth v2.0
Wifi and WiMax
Dedicated Video, Audio or 3d processors

Integrated phone?
Integrated GPS?

or would applications be more important...
Full desktop OS's with full desktop apps?

Mobile MacOSX anyone?

My idea of an Uber Palm would be my TH55, but with 128MB Internal Memory and 256MB internal Flash (No NVFS!), a 400MHz variable-speed low-drain CPU that defaults to 120MHz, low-drain WiFi with g, MIMO and WPA support and a socket for a pigtail aerial, a general purpose low-drain DSP that can be reprogrammed for things other than MP3 (And can also do video decoding!), Dual MS Pro and SDIO/MMC slots, Full FAT32 and maybe partial ext2 filesystem support, a better camera, a T68i-style 5-way micro-stick on the front in addition to the existing jog/back, more hardwearing buttons, 2Ah battery (and keeping the ludicrously long battery life).

And it would be Black.

My idea of a uber next-gen PDA would involve cybernetic implants and retinal overlays ;)

I have liked the added battery life and not having to worry about the inevitable flat battery. Perhaps there is a halfway house where on reset, data is copied from an NVFS to RAM.

Variable speed CPU is a stonkingly good idea! The main purpose of my 400Mhz processor is probably draining the battery!

A DSP is now really essential. Why waste battery life on running mltiple instructions through a standard instruction set when a single instruction through a DSP would suffice. We all like to have digital media of one form or another on our PDA.

It really makes you think that most of the innovation in the PDA department has been done by Palm licencees (Sony, Zodiac) rather than Palm themselves.

Oh and it would be white (with an Apple logo on ;))
