Does anyone know of any games that are not puzzles or similar for palmOS?? I cant find one game (bar tetris/bejeweled) that i can play for ages, they are are incredibly repetitive, the same thing over and over. Wheres the semi-gb quality, semi-early pc quality? There must be an explanation why they arent made for palm (i know its possible expecially with OS5).

Can someone please tell me why palm games are sooo shallow and why couldnt we get something like AoE on a palm (yes, i know its made by satan, i mean bill gates but some other company could do something comparable)'

Why? Why? Why?

Personally, I'd say it has something to do with the rampant pirating of everything and anything Palm-related as of late.

I seriously doubt you would one you play it. SimCity 2000 is SVGA meaning it is 640x480. Doesn't work well at all on a screen smaller than that. I used to wish that Simcity 2000 was available for Palm OS until I played the PPC version.

Not enough people would buy the games.

In the past Palm has always been the solution for people who wanted to work with their handheld.
If you wanted a toy, you bought a PPC.
Sony and recently palm have made some approach to bring multimedia to the palm platform.
I guess, you can expect to see some games for OS5 Devices when there are enough of them to call it a market.
Right now it would be too expensive for any company to support another processor than the Strongarm only to support an architecture that has little or no multi media capabilites.

Have you tried Dynomite?

Its a repetitive overpriced cloned puzzler, the exact type of game that the palm is supersaturated with, i want something original, engrossing, different and long. (not saying its not a good game but there are several games which are almost exactly the same, only diff graphics)

rhart00: The NX screen has twice the pixels of a PPC screen. It is like cutting the sim city 2k screen in half. I think this would be usable.

xlr8: There are a lot of non-puzzle games for palm.... however, yes, most of them aren't fun after a while. Here are some to try (whether or not I liked them), maybe you'll like one of them

MasterThief 3d
Toy Races
Stone Age Plus
Lemmings (puzzle, sorta, but still very different from other palm games)
Elite
XCade & Liberty/Phoenix
Rifle Slugs II

Yeah I couldn't think of everything on the top of my head at the moment....

Also, Medieval Heroes

There are TONS of games. For a start, look at clieplanet.com's hi-res list. Then peruse palmgear.com... I have over 50 non-puzzle games on my memory card.

They're hanging out with all the bad PPC.

I cant find a good rpg that has decent graphics (i know its about the gameplay but goldensun showed me you can have both).

What i'm really itching for is a real time strategy game that is comparable to the early pc ones

Golden Sun..... eh, it's mediocre. Similar to early SNES RPGs. I really don't like it that much.

I just tried Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, now that is a great RPG... it should be coming to the states in a few months I'm guessing.

You're not going to find any full RTS for Palm. There was some old half-finished one (lores), but it wasn't that good. Medieval Heroes incorporates some RTS elements.

Bug Lord is a full fledged RTS coming soon... www.buglord.com. There will be a 320x320 version for Palms.

Somehow i dont think it will be quite the same as maintaining an organised town with huge resources while stocking up on a huge army to obliterate the enemy. it does look like it has some potetial though
