NX70V or NX73?

Ok so I got a refurb NX70V for $363 (good deal?) (overstock.com at 399, 10% discount, $3 ship), but now I see rumors of the NX73 (Retail $599? $499?). Should I return the NX70V (Loose $60 in restocking fee.) and wait for the NX73? Thus it would cost me the additional $250 over the NX70V. (If I return NX70V, get $300 back, NX73 costs about $550)

Rumor has it that the NX73 would have:
* 1 Mp Camera (vs 320k) :) Or is that NX80?
* Possible TG-50 Keyboard, much nicer, backlight? :)
* Buttons on the edge of display?
* TG-50 speaker? Does it make difference?
* 16 MB free? (versus 11 Mb)
* Bluetooth
* 300 MHz (200 MHz - no that big a deal)
* PicSel software
* New Style (more TG-50 like?)

I also considered the TG-50, but loose the VG area and the camera.

Upgrading from T615 to get better color, OS5, MP3, and speed of JPG decompression.

Any suggestions appreciated!

There have been rumors of a replacement for the NX ever since it was first released. I'd go for the NX70v

Keep what you have, and use the "eBay Upgrade System" when the new model comes out. :D

Where did all your memory go? I don't have an NX but my SJ30 had more than that When I first got it. Is that just the NX series?

You would have to read up on the various models. Some models they increased the running heap, so more memory is used for the OS. Thus, it is common in the NX, NR?, TG?, to have 11 Mb available. Many users complained. So there is rumor that they found a way to put more in ROM (that is silly, as the heap cannot be in ROM) or something. Maybe, and this is just spitting into the wind, they provided a separate 5 Mb of memory for the heap that is not in the 16 Mb address space. I don't know the details, just that it is rumored that there will be more free memory.

The dept. mgr. at Best Buy confirmed that the Sony Rep came in with a prototype of an upgraded NX70V that will be out at the end of the month at $599. Looked like a NZ90.Most stores have lowered NX70V to $499. New model will be $599, include Bluetooth, flash for camera. That's all he knew for sure-was not sure about memory and processor (duh!).

1mpix camera with flash makes a big difference .. however size does matter too .. at leat to me a lot => even NX series is too bulky .. not to mention NZ90 which is a real brick ...
it's just me who wants a small formfactor ??
something in sj30 formfactor and palm os 5 with BT would be great to have ! i know we have T|T here .. but since it doesn't come with picesel i don't see any reason upgrading from my sj30 ..

If it is indeed the size of the NZ I am going to be very dissapointed. I want a NX with the exact same form factor as the current NX, with bluetooth. A nicer camera would be nice, but if it has a flash on it I'll have to pass it by. I'm not looking for a dumbed down NZ. I'm looking for an NX that is faster with more memory and bluetooth. I hope that is what is on the way.

I'm looking for a model like NZ90 but without the 2 megapixel camere, basically one similar to the NX60 but with built in Bluetooth. Built in WiFi/802.11b would be great but since the NZ90 doesn't have it, I won't expect the new models to have it either.

If that rumored device is the size of the NZ90, if it has the right features, I just might move to it. NOT! I think the form factor of the NX series is just right, and not too big. I'm hoping that the next NX will have the same size, but minor modifications. I don't want the bulk of the NZ90.

If sony doesn't do built in wifi it's falling behind in my opinion. The Tungsten C has it, as well as 64mb and a 400mhz processor. I don't see anything sony has comming close to that.
