I'm ready to say goodbye to my trusty Palm Vx, with its monochrome screen and serial sync cradle. I have a Sony digicam using Memorysticks, so it makes sense to stick with Sony for the Clie - I've had a Sony mobile phone with the Jogdial and see that to be a great benefit on a PDA too.

Looking at the SJ33 and T675 Clie models, I don't see a lot of difference, save for the SJ33's colour lid and 30g extra weight.

According to www.sonystyle.co.uk, they both have the same screen (320x320 hires 65k colours), the same processor (66MHz), the same amount of memory (16MB RAM, 8MB Flash), they both have the same connectivity (IrDA port and USB cradles), and the same funky Sony Stuff (Jogdial, MemoryStick, MP3 player). They both run Palm OS 4.1 and LiIon batteries. Where's the difference?!

I use my Palm Vx for internet connectivity, I have the Palm V modem for 33.6k phone line use when stationery, and use IrDA to my mobile phone when on the go. I'm very comfortable with Graffitti, so don't like the idea of a PDA with a keyboard, and I have a proper Sony digicam, so gimicky cameras don't do it for me (there's ont on my mobile phone if I have the urge!) - so I'm shying away from the foldy-camera models.

SJ33/T675 look ideal for me, I've just got a new phone which supports Bluetooth and GPRS, so a Bluetooth upgrade to the new Clie will be my first task.

Will I be able to take photos with my Sony digicam, saving the 1600x1200 JPEG to MemoryStick, and have the Clie resize it down to say 640x480, and email it off?

SJ33: No extended IR, can't be used as remote for tv/vcr/dvd/amp. LONG lasting battery, much better than the T675.

T675: Extended IR, Remote commander, Has vibrating alarm function.

I like the body of the T675 much better, nicer to hold and doesn't have the front cover that attracts fingerprints like the SJ33 cover. IMO.

You should be able to resize the photo in the camera and keep the original also, so long as your sony is not too old. Hope this helps.

Stunner... I never knew that! It's a DSC-P50, I didn't know that you could resize photos on the camera, never mind that it keeps the original and saves a smaller version... thanks for that!

The plastic lid of the SJ33 does look nice, but if I keep it as long as the Vx (since they were first available in the UK, at least 3-4 years ago?), it's not going to retain its cool complexion. T675 it is... I can live with slightly poorer battery life - it's plenty for day-to-day use, and if it's to be relied on for an extended period, a travel/battery charger should be just the job.

Thanks for the quick reply.
