people r asking the same question with the Zire 72 and we still don't know if thats discontinued

As far as I know both the Zire72 and T5 have both been discontinued. The T5 has been superceded by the TX and the Zire line is just gone. palmOne's only entry-level unit is the Z22, and its midrange is now the E2, with the TX and LifeDrive on the high ends.

I have visited palm's site and there was no official release about T5 or Zire 72 being discontinued.

I don't think they were officially discontinued, just sort of phased out. My store (Circuit City) stopped recieving them a while ago.

So that will probably mean no more updates to the T5? And I still have some glitches on mine.

and nothing other than the Treo with Camera. Not a big deal to many but a client of mine put into their outlets about 2,000 Zire 72's as part of a special project. We installed them, put special programming into them and things began to move along. Now as things continue to ramp up and the people in the outlets find some pretty cool additional (and recommended) ways of using the camera, it goes away. No the Treo won't work either budget wise or function wise.

and ..... on with the show.

BTW differrent question. I know the OS on the TX is a bit higher but is the desktop the same as the T5??

The T5 and Zire72 are both discontiuned. There are no more being produced by Palm and basically they are end of life. The *replacement* for the T5 is the TX, while teh Z72 has none unless you count the Treo 650 or Life Drive in some weird way :confused:

If you clicked on "Where to Buy" at the bottom you'd notice the only thing that comes up is two places selling the T|C (for some reason).

Actually, the T5 is not discontinued. But rather, not shown. But if you click the link "where to buy" on the top or bottom. It will show tell you to buy at office depot.

And from where i live, its being sold from Futureshop, Bestbuy, London Drugs, Office depot and staples.
