View Full Version : I'm pissed at Palm

I'm pissed. I got a LD the day they came out, and was qute disappointed with its frequent crashes and general high weirdness. I shelved it, tried an Axim X50v (FYI Windows Mobile 5.0 == shined turd), and eventually ended up getting a Palm TX about a month ago. I've been super happy with the TX as it's pretty much a Tungsten 5 with built in Wi-Fi.
Now they come out with this patch for the LD. I installed it a few days ago and have been testing the LD, and it rocks. Now I can't decide if I want to keep the LD or the TX. Even if I keep both, I have to choose one to be the Alpha PDA with all my contact and calendar info, and all my best programs.
So far the patch has been like night and day. The LD rocks now.

The solution is easy: Never buy a PDA, always wait for the next model, because I can tell you already, the next model will be better than the current one (at least after you apply the patch ;-)

But you know we as geek can't simply do that... And they know it too well ;)

Use one of them as your primary handheld for a day or two, then exchange and try out the other. Then list out the pros and cons of each. That's what I'd do.
But next time you plan on buying a new palm, get one that's on the market long enough. Since palm has already screwed up, and fixed later, the T5 and the LD. You never which one they'll use this tactic on next.

i'd say keep the LD. pretty much the same as TX except that its got more memory. it also has voice memo faster speed. i'd say return the TX if u still can and get ur money back.

No need to return any./. both are good units.. As per the primary palm..I would prefer to carry the TX for his lightweight.. If weight does not matter ..then the LD will do.
At the end of the day, both palm are equally good
HA! I know what you mean. In the past few days, I've been soft resetting my TX and LD and reisntalling stuff from backups. Just when I think I like the TX there's something in the LD that makes me go back.
