Hi all!

When co-workers try to beam a memo to my new T/X, the T/X places the memo in Documents to Go instead the Memo app. I know it's probably a setting, but after almost an hour of searching I can't seem to figure out how to make it behave properly.

Thanks in advance...

Allen

Welcome to 1src!
Is your coworker beaming from Memo Pad?
Does it ask what app you can open it with? I am going to try to recreate it with a Treo 650 and a Sony Clie UX50, and tell you what to do. :)

As I recall, they were in Memo Pad when the beam was initiated. I was at the home screen. The TX did not ask how to receive the file.

I guess you can copy and paste it into Memo Pad... :(

I have a similar question -- there are utilities to "repair" file associations, and to reset them, but I can't find any way to *create* associations. Documents2Go appears to stomp all over other programs when it comes to opening filetypes it supports. Some apps I have don't seem to be associated with filetypes I know they support. Anyone know of / willing to hack out an app that does this? I have one that allows you to associate filetypes with storage locations, but none that associates them with helper apps.

I know something of this. DocsToGo overrides the Palm settings when it comes to file association when receiving from beam. It also happened to me. The solution is to install something like ReceivIt which controls any incoming beamed file. It's not free but I believe there is something free out there... check around. You can set which files go where with this application, although you may experience issues because DocsToGo tends to override again, even such applications.
