Anyone using this case?

How do you like it? How long from the time you ordered until it arrived?

I'm considering this case, and would love some opinions (I've read the few from a couple of weeks ago... anyone get this case recently?)

Thanks!

I live in Canada, ordered it thursday (it comes from France) and received it Tuesday. Right now they have free FedEx for any order over $70.00 so I ordered a lleather case for my GF's TX I'm getting her for X-mas. The case is nice, looks really sharp (I got the dark one). I previously had a Brando for my T3, and the quality of covertec is better. One thing that worries me in the long run is if the paint will last, but I as far as protection goes I feel it'll protect my TX very well.

Thanks for the feedback, Goose.

I ordered one, and hope it suits my needs. Looks sharp!

Is it hard to open? Does it stay closed?

Thanks for your feedback.

Yeah, I think you'll like the way it looks. It's not hard to open at all. In fact when I first got the case the clasp holding the case shut seemed to be too easy to open, and I was worried it might pop open on its own. Hasn't happened yet, so I seems like it's well designed. The TX is also easy to remove form the case. The only thing I don't like so much is that the cover opens to the left. This is fine when reading something and holding the case in your right hand but I often hold the PDA in my left hand while writing down something on paper. The case does get in the way a bit in this instance, but I can still operate the TX buttons to navigate single handed.

Have it.

Like it OK. Really wanted a top-opening case like I had for my m515, but I couldn't find one. Knew I needed a hard case, so I got the Covertec.

My big complaint: no belt clip or button, no way to order one separately on the web site, and no response to 3 emails over 2 weeks!

I don't personally use a belt clip so I don't need one. But I saw those parts for sale at a website just a couple of days ago. They should fit the Covertec case. Unfortunatly I can't remember which one, sorry, but I know it was a place that had aluminum cases for sale.
It's weird, Covertec advertises their own pretty substancial looking clip system but I see nowhere to order it. It's still a very sharp looking case though.

Just found a link for the post and clip at Innopocket (http://www.innopocket.com/web/showSubCate.asp?scatid=10070&catid=2&name=Palm&cname=Tungsten-T5/TX)
Looks like it should work.

I have the covertec case, and used it only for 10 days. Naked for another 10 days, now with leather EB case. The covertec case feels cheap, and loose in the hinges. It also appears to be deeper than it needs to be, and the TX doesn't feel as snug in it as I feel it should. You cannot sync in the case, using a cradle. (I thought the EB could, being thin leather, but I've had no luck there either).
Overall, not impressed.

Guess that's why Baskin and Robbins makes 31 flavors! (Local Ice Cream parlor, which is called 31 Flavors and has 31 flavors of ice cream)

I just received mine today, and really like it! The T|X is firmly secured in the case (previoulsy had Palm Hard Case, which used rod system, and the T|X would flop around when I was reading in bed and holding it perpendicular)

I don't use a belt clip, I like to keep my Palm in my pants pocket, and this case adds less bulk to the T|X then the Palm one did.

Also, the T|X rattled in the Palm hardcase! The case seemed to be too thick for the T|X, and I'd constantly have a rattling noise coming from my TX in the Palm case! REALLY annoying! No such problem with the Covertec case. (The Palm case was also thicker, which added bulk in my pocket. The Covertec not only eliminates the rattling, but is smaller in my pants pocket)

The case also allows me to use my headphones while in the case, which the Palm case didn't.

I don't use a cradle, and I can charge the TX (and, I'd assume, hotsync with cable, haven't tried it yet) all while the T|X remains in the hardcase!

It also looks very sleek! (Even has cut out slits to allow alarm sounds to penetrate easier, making them louder, again, something the Palm Hardcase didn't)

Overall, I'm thrilled with the Covertec Black Aluminium case! :)

Glad you like it Shel. That was pretty fast shipping too.
