View Full Version : Fatal Alert - Skipped Record?

Every so often, I'm getting the following Fatal Alert
"DateDB.C, Line:2537, An earlier alarm was found in skipped
records" There is a "Reset" button at the bottom of the window that pops up on the screen. However, when I reset the unit, the same Fatal Alert comes up. I have a PEG-T615C. Anyway to find and erase this "skipped record". A hard reset corrects the problem, but it eventually comes back.
Thanks in advance.

I've had that problem before too. My personal experience is that the easiest way out of it is to have the desktop overwrite the handheld on calendar and to-do items, which is where I have PC and handheld alarms and where my problems usually occur.
Mine are generated by editing the same calendar or to-do item on both the PC and the handheld between syncs.
I use Pocket Mirror (syncing with outlook) and it will give me a message to delete one of them and then sync again. If I DON'T do that, I wind up with that fatal alert -- sometimes I get the fatal alert even before I can do it.
I try very hard not to edit the same to-do or calendar item on the Clie and the PC between syncs <g>; that hard-reset loop is a real pain.

Hi. I found your thread whilst dealing with exactly the same issue. If it helps, I solved mine through a warm reset (hold the up button while resetting - which avoids running through the integrity checks that cause the Fatal Alert loop). I then deleted the rogue record on my Outlook (easy for me as I don't use alarms that much) and overwrote the Palm database. A pain, but it avoided the agony of the hard reset. Simon
