Can anyone, help me installing picsel browser on my TX, i try to do it many times and no good luck!!! :confused:

Well, you need to give some more details like.... what *exactly* is happening?

I've had Picsel Browser installed on my TX for a long time, and it works fine.

Is Picsel Browser freeware? If so, where do you get it? All I can find with regards to it is links that have been removed.

No, it cost about $20.00, I think.

I purchased it from Handago about a year ago. Works great!

Ummm I Think you got picsel viewer not picsel browser as picsel browser can NEVER be sold outside of its original product but some searching thorugh a certain something would help :P

I read in a forum that u needed to copy picsel browser to a card, and then move it to the palm memory, otherwise, it won't let you.

I didn't find a link to it, but it seems to be a really great browser, i read it is ilegal to download it though...

MaxX worked GREAT to get Picsel full screen on my TX. I am missing two of the five PB files (you all probably know which ones). If someone could contact me privately (ctodd111@yahoo.com) about this problem, it would be much appreciated.

THANK YOU! It now no longer crashes when I hit certain icons. Do you know why I see crazy looking characters when I open some of the windows?

I know you gave a warning how it might work with Sony with the landscape/portrait app install, yet sadly...it doesn't. :( Endless reset recycle loops >.<. Was hoping to see PB full screen on my TH55.

Ok, I d'ont have the "Picsel Browser_eng_wy.prc", file, and i have only the "Picsel_Browser_eng.prc", and for this i think, is the reason for the Japanese character in my "Picsel browser".

Please, in where i can download the "Picsel Browser_eng_wy.prc" file??

Ok. so, I installed UDHM and then I got picsel browser to work, but I could not use it because the phone was "off" and I could not "turn phone on". Weird. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck? So far, I have got it to run on my treo, just could not get on the internet.

I had to uninstall it though in order to be able to use my phone again.

Does anyone have any ideas??????

Wow, it turns off the data on the 700??!! That sucks >.< I guess I should thank Evdo for not being in my area else I would have jumped on that...what it seems to be buggy, 700p phone >.< Hmm, maybe install the files, then reset the device, turn on your connection then try PBrowser again?

Well I have spent the last 9 or 10 hours looking for Pixel Browser as well as chatting with dmitry and all I have found are dead links. But which did you install first? If you installed Maxx, then installed picsel it still won't work. You need to install any applications that need Maxx first (Netfront, Picsel), then install Maxx. That should do it, let me know how you make out.

At the very first i installed Netfront, then Maxx, then, some weeks later, Picsel Browser. So now I need to uninstall Maxx and then just reinstall it?

edit: Did that - still got the same problem. I do have Fullscreen but the Keyboards still moves down immediatly after popping up...

I have read all four pages here and am not quite sure how to go about this. I have all of the software available for picsel browser. I have netfront working on my TX already. If I want Picsel to load correctly do I need to put my TX to a backup before netfront and start installing picsel browser than the netfront installer. How should I load it hotsync, copy from memory card ect. What order should I start with. Because I am using a TX do I need all of these files.

PCRP.prc
SMPT.prc
PicselAccelerator.prc
MaxX.prc

I would appreciate any suggestions or help.

What I did was, copy all the stuff to an SD Card, then using Resco Explorer install all the Picsel stuff except for MaxX (I used the multi-select, then press-and-hold "install to RAM" option). I then deleted MaxX out of memory (it is already there from NetFront). I then soft-reseted, then reinstalled MaxX using the same method, then soft reset again. Both Picsel and NetFront now work like any other Palm App.

BTW, dmitrygr is quite the palm programmer/hacker. I love his "experimental" freeware downloads. I also read in another thread that dmitrygr is considering releasing all of his apps as freeware after he finishes college (i'm also an university student, so i understand the pressure of loans).

Hello, I think I have good news!

I found my way to avoid these memory limitations for Pixel Br, and I hope for you as well. Disclaimer here, this is my opinion so do at your own risk (which should be small).

You may have noticed already that Pixel Br sometimes opens a darker area on the bottom of the screen, were you can scroll left or right to see the history so you can navigate back. I don't mean the main menu, I mean like some small thumbnails of the last webs you visited.

This is controlled by an option on the preferences window of the browser. Right now I don't remember the exact words but the option says "keep history/cache of X days". After setting this to zero I did not get again that annoying message claiming to close your document because of little memory.

However, as you will guess you have just disabled the cache. This means that each time you enter a web site, you have to download it fully. It also means you don't have the history of your visited web sites of your last days.

If you try as I did, please tell us your experience.

I´ve been using Picsel Browser without this add-ons

PicselAccelerator.prc
and I don´t see any differences in web-browsing...
PCRP and SMPT were made by Dmitry for Clies (to avoid crashing).
Is it necessary to use it in the TX? what is their function in Picsel?
I use Picsel with clean start and UDMH...

Every friend has their Picsel Browser work on TX with "FULL 320x480" screen?

I have all things recommend above ready, but why I can't get FULL screen?
The STATUS bar is still there.

The statusbar isn't counted as part of "full screen" on Picsel -- using a right-to-left drag across the very top of the screen will hide the status bar, but Picsel does its own screen handling, so you just get a white bar instead of fullscreen.

In NetFront, doing the right-to-left drag in landscape mode will indeed give you "full screen" with NF's navigation bar hidden, and the left-right and up-down scrollbars only showing one picsel (which I guess makes it 319x479).
