View Full Version : Fail to upload image into handheld. Please help.
I'm using a T/E with PalmDesktop v4.1.4 with WinXP.
I'm using ZLauncher v5.3. I want to upload some image to my handheld to be use as background image. I also would like to have a image viewer to view my pictures.Currently trying out trial version of AcidImage. In fact, I have tried RescoViewer but that too, failed to upload.
I drag-and-drop a picture of 55KB into palmOne Quick Install (into expansion card). Hot-synced. Hot-sync complete. Check my handheld but picture is not there. Checked my palmOne Quick Install window. Picture.JPG is still in the Install window. On the right, message "Unknown error (0x4401)" appears.
How do I upload the picture to my handheld?
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks!

Can anyone help me out? Thanks! :confused:Sure, have you also installed the jpeglib;if not you will need to do that first. The images should be on your card if you synced it. Go to the menu and select Theme Manager. Once it comes up, pick Back Images and all the images you installed should show up. Select the one you want and follow the prompts. You might want to set your card up so that you have all your back images in one folder, all your themes in one, sound files in one and iconsets in another.
How do I check if I have the jpeglib? Is it in my handheld? If I don't have it, where do I find the file?
Thanks!
I have found and installed JpegLib on my handheld. Still I am not able to upload my image :(
Any more advice?

Any more advice?Wuvs, once you loaded the Jpeglib; did you select the menu in zLauncher and go to Theme Manager and select Back Image? Once you do this it should look for all background images on your card; by the way it is an SD card correct.
Demonstar,
Yes, I did exactly as told by you. The problem is the Palm Desktop or HotSync failed to send any image to my handheld. After hotsync-ing, opening the QuickInstallTool reveals the image is still in the QuickInstallTool itself. From this I gather the image was never sent to my handheld at all. But why is it not sending?
My wife's Treo650 shares the same PC and PalmDesktop with my T/E. Sending images to her Treo is easy.
Any help from you guys? :(

Any help from you guys? :(Wuv, when you hotsync your T/E are you putting your bkgs on to the handheld or on to the expansion card? If you're getting a triangle on the files that you are trying to sync, that means the files are already installed on to your handheld. Are you using jpegs for your bkgs or are you using bkg files?
Demonstar, thanks for the suggestions. But I got the thing working! :)
I got suggestions from another forum that it might be incompatibility issue between the new Palm Desktop 4.1.4 and my T/E Palm OS 5.2.1. I tried using instapp.exe from C:Program files/PalmOne/instapp.exe to upload the images. It worked. It manage to send the images to my handheld/Card/DCIM folder.
Thanks again for your help!
