I recreated my Palm Desktop, had plain vanilla conduits installed; and got the following problem:

the hotsync works, & at the end, the TX crashes w/the screen going blank.

The files I put into the quick install were installed & I can't figure out why this is happening.

I looked at other related posts & moved the usb cable onto a diff port on the usb hub, to no avail.

I get nervous when there are unexplained crashes on the TX as I've had to put in too many hours fixing corrupted files &/or backups that occured after crashes.

This only started happening after I re-did P desktop s/w.

TIA,

Eli

The ones that are there when the desktop is installed.

Can you just try to remove the apps from ur TX- delete the backup folder - and try syncing again without any apps. If it works you can try installing them one by one...

Is your System conduit set to Handheld Overwrites Desktop? If no, change it.

I have this exact same problem. My TX was working beautifully until I decided to clear its memory and then I did a clean install of Palm Desktop software. Ever since the TX crashes at the end of every Hot Sync. Whats up with that?

Seems that Dick Tracy's idea helped. Set to Handheld overwrites & now I get clean sync & no crashes. Not exactly sure of chain of events (late work hours ;-) ), just happy to see that it is now working. Aspidoras, please try this & let others know if it helped.

Glad it works Technical 1

Actually when the conduit (backup) is set to Desktop overwrites Handheld. It will cause any palm to reset at the end of hotsync. But I still do not know why your TX crashes.
