View Full Version : LD reset on every synch
Just bought LD after years of using Ipaq and Pocket PC. It is a big shift and LD is great except the headache i got everytime tried to hotsynch. The unit would reset everytime i pushed the button since day one! I already set to Local USB and done everything right. I dont know what i missed unless the cable is faulty. Any ideas?

Go to Hotsync Manager ---> custom ---> backup -->(change the backup conduit to Handheld overwrites Desktop) -->done .
LD shouldnt reset or ask you to reset at the end of Hotsync

Hi ALA,
I hope pgenie’s advice helped with your issue. I just wanted to add that if you have further trouble hotsyncing, go to the Palm, Inc. Support Knowledge Library. I have included the link to “hotsyncing troubleshooting”:
http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External2001,CASE=obj(2630)
I hope this helps.

Download and install Filez, and use the option to view preferences. The newest preferences are at the bottom of the list--I've found that Documents2Go preferences tend to cause post-Hotsync resets fairly regularly. Delete the last few preferences, one at a time if you've got the patience, and try again. {Prof. Jonathan}
Thanks Prof J. Actually i managed to make it work. The problem was caused by the default setting under 'connection' which was set to local network via bluetooth. I created a 'custom' setting with connection to PC via cradle and cable. Everything works fine except now i have not been able to dowload my inbox mails in the Outlook. Calendar, contacts etc o.k except mails. Funny thing is that i have filled all the required info on my mail account, username, password, pop3, smtp ets but all i got were the standard initial Palm welcome mails. I am still trying to figure out what i missed.
Despite all these hiccups i think LD is a very good buy.
