I remember seeing an audio equalizer screen on an NZ90 image using the Audio Player on the Sony Style website back when I was first investigating getting the NZ. Now that I want it, I can't seem to find that equalizer program shown and could not find any information about it at the Sony site. Does anyone know of a good audio equalizer program that works with the NZ? I want to get the best sound possible with the MP3 player. TIA!

Its not an equalizer program that you saw. It was just an equalizer status which you can see in your Audio Player. While playing Mp3 on using Audio Player, on the top right of the screen, select the middle box. It changes the display to equalizer screen.

Thanks, Williepalm. Apparently, my Audio Player does not have that equalizer option for some reason. The three boxes available on my program are for Program Play, Repeat on/off, and A-B. It is not even listed in the options menu. I have the Clie Audio Player v.3.01 that came with the unit. I wonder how I fix this?

I have the same version of Clie Audio on my NZ as "clie-mama". I've also wondered the same exact thing about the equalizer!

There is a visualization in the OS4 version of Audio Player. I think this is what you thought was a multi-band graphic equalizer. Unfortunately, we lost the visualization in OS5.
Sony is real bad about putting the wrong screen images on different models at sonystyle.com. We have seen an SJ33 with the OS5 launcher, a T665 with Hires+, and the TG50 using Kinoma instead of the Movie Player. This was another case of Sony messing up, and it looks like they put a screen image on the NZ90 that was actually the OS4 MP3 player.
The OS5 Audio Player has no graphic equalizer, neither does the OS4 version. I hope this helps.

thanks, yep sounds like a case of photoshop manipulation!! ...it did look much cooler than what actually comes with the NZ's audio player! -although i am still very happy w/ my NZ's audio player.

Hmm, wonder what if we use Audio Player 2.2.1(which has the equalizer graphics) on the OS 5. Will it crash? Anyone wants a try? I can send you the prc.

How about beaming via IR from your notebook/PC?

Actually, with some work, I tried this using RsrcEdit (by making a "copy" of the AudioPlayer database from my Clie N760 to move it to my NZ90) and I got an error that the AudioPlayer (version copied from my N760) driver couldn't be initialized on my NZ90.
OS5 must use a different audio driver than OS4, I guess...

to sum it up:
no equalizer in nx/nz audioplayer.
no visualization in nx/nz audioplayer.
no "multi-jog" in nx/nz audioplayer (ability to define specific audioplayer functions for the jog dial by just pressing longer - i really liked that - or do i miss something as i'm no manual reader)
i regret the second as i liked that eye candy ;-(
although i really enjoy the improvements (hires+, even hires - shuddering remembering the os4-version, playlist-option, repeat etc. functionality)
one questions from my side: is the new player skinable?

one questions from my side: is the new player skinable?
Yes. With the right type of knife, a skilled hunter should be able to succesfully skin the player.
Ooops. I mean ... I don;t think so.
Nick;)

Don't need a knife ;-) Learned it better already, there is already a little skin-creation tool available; do a search for "audioplayer", there are some threads mentioning it.
