I just purchased the inaccurately-named Value Pack version of the TX. It came with the lame hardcase, and the horrible screen savers. I was surprised that it didn't have the flip cover in addition to the hardcase.
So, I'm trying to find a replacement flip cover. It doesn't look like Palm sells one. Are there any in addition to the following?
Proporta Aluminium-Lined Flip Cover (http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=998&t_mode=des)
PocketSolutions Leather Cover (http://www.thepocketsolution.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PSI-5082&Category_Code=tungsten_t5_accessories&Product_Count=1)
BoxWave FlexiSkin (http://www.boxwave.com/products/flexiskin/flexiskin-palm-tx_789.htm) (sort of)

I'm using the Sena case (http://www.senacases.com/cart/home.php?cat=363).
I cut out a small portion of the top so I could open the case while keeping a set of retractable headphones (http://zipkord.com/zipkord/earphones.html)plugged in.

My TX didn't come with a case of any sort. I purchased the Sena flip case for it, as it is the best of the ones I have found. It has magnetic closures on the front of the case, not a wrap around one on the bottom.

How come you have not receive the case. Should be in the box the standard Flip cover with the palm logo/script/name stamped on it...I got one of those.

Brain cramp on my part. I did get the flip cover. I was thinking of something along the lines of a Sena or Vaja case.

I love the concept of flip covers, since I consider that a regular case makes my palm too bulky to fit inside my pockets...
Does anyone know of any other flip covers (just flip covers;)), besides from the ones stated above?
thanks
Sena (as noted above) are good, similarly there is Covertec and Bellagio - the one I've got at the moment.
The Bellagio is a leather case, padded on the front with a rigid back. It has a belt clip clasp there and it has a magnetic wrap-around closure. It has room for a couple of SD cards and a few business cards/stamps/whatever and it has ports for the rear speaker, the reset button and headphones plug.
The only unfortunate thing is that the Bellagio does not come in a version without the belt clip bolt, as the Sena does (or a means of removing it), which is unfortunate if you want to just slip it into a pocket.
Still, it works for me.
Incidentally, I also use the Boxwave 'permanent' screen protector - a rigid plastic overlay. It comes in a glossy and matte version.

Funny, the guy asks about flip covers and is told about cases. Twice!

I bought an extra for my TE off ebay when I needed one. Check and see if anyone is selling a T5 original cover I think is is the same except for the color maybe, Oh and the Palm One logo instead of Palm. You may even find an TX cover. Anyone know if they are the exact same size? I love the flip cover too.

I also prefer screen protectors from Boxwave or Martin Fields. Some people really like Brando. I think These three are pretty similar.

The flip cover that came with the TX is excellent IMO. The best one they have put together yet, perfect size, stiffness and a material that resists damage.
Hard covers are a mixed blessing, I have several around here for previous Palms, m515 one was good... I even have the Titanium Slider Box thing for my IIIxe way back in the day I think I paid some outrageous price for it $150 or something....
I don't think I will be getting a hard case for my TX, unless I change back to a more physically demanding / PDA unfriendly job.

Tomatoes, Tomahtoes....
The TX has a nasty faux-suede 'flip cover' that doesn't really protect much of anything and which includes a soft plastic hinge that just begs ripping (or snapping off) with extended use. Hard to imagine anyone wants to waste much time and money acquiring another one of those. Less than a penny to produce.
Meanwhile, the flip cover 'cases' as noted above offer considerably more protection, useful storage and are form fitting - adding little bulk to the device. We're simply offering a logical improvement to the cr*p Palm supplies. NOS might be stock and original, but not always better....

The flip cover of the TX is a bit thicker than the T5. I don't have it in front of me, but I think it is like 1.5 - 2 mm thicker. It is also a slighlty different color and slightly different texture.

Once on the topic of flip covers, I just happened across the flip cover of my Clie T665, and compared it to that of the T5. Not only is it thinner, but also MUCH stiffer. With the T5 or TX something could bang into it hard enough and cause it to bend and possibly break the screen. With the Clie cover that would never happen.
Well well, what do you expect from Palm. They probably made it that way purposely so that we'd all buy their crappy hard case.

I got the Proporta leather-and-aluminum cover. I'm not sure if it is draining my battery - I sometimes carry it in the same pocket as my wallet, and there's an impression of the 5-way button on the inside of the leather. I also lose all battery overnight sometimes. However, there's another link possibly targeting HomeWithFind, so I don't know yet.

I'm pretty sure the Proporta is draining my battery, as discussed above. I'm back in the market for a flip cover.
Anyone remember the Palm III?

Now that was a cover. Hard plastic, thin, flips out of the way, and prevents key presses. Why can't I find something similar for my TX?

When I first saw it, with that goofy stitching around the edge, it reminded me of something you would make at summer camp with one of those leather arts and crafts kits. For the life of me, I can't figure out how someone decided that was acceptable to be the flip cover included with Palm's newest ($300) PDA.
Also, the dye (or whatever it is) on the flip cover comes off on the TX. On mine, it looks like faint grease marks all around the edges of the screen on the front, and along the left and right edges on the back (which it spends most of its time pressed against when I'm using it). It's especially noticeable in certain lighting conditions where the difference in color between the TX and the dye really stands out. The spots wipe off, only to return again as soon as the flip cover makes contact with the Palm. Over time, I wonder if this repeated accumulation of dye (or whatever it is) will eventually permanently discolor the TX case.

There's a "Keylock" setting in the Prefs that you can set to prevent accidental key presses from draining your batteries.

...if you still have a working power button, that is. :( Gotta send it back for a warranty replacement. And I still think the case should be able to handle that for me.
