Hello all. I have been trying to convert the proprietary .mp4 format video produced by my Sony DSC-M1 camera for viewing on my NX80. I have tried several steps/apps including Quicktime Pro 6.5.2 and Image Converter 1.5. (under WinXPsp2) and FFMpegX (under Mac OS 10.2.8). There are a number of threads for .mp4 conversion, but I am unable to get a working combination. Does anyone have this camera and/or some guidelines for this? Thanks.

Have you tried TCPMP and the AAC decoder? (you will nhave to do a little extra searching to find the decoder) - This will allow you to view the native .mp4 files, but it is a bit 'jerky' (at least on a T5 and Lifedrive) I am searching for a solution to this. TCPMP is superb !

Thanks for your reply! I have been using TCPMP for some time, but the AAC decoder is not distributed with the app anymore. Persistant google searches provided me with it and the DSC-M1 native files play FLAWLESSLY on my TX. It even plays well on my NX80, though the video speed is better when I set TCPMP video prefs to Low Quality.
Prior to this, I have tried several "click-&-convert" apps: Pocket DVX Encoder, Videora Converter and VEMODE. All worthy apps, but most usefull if you are trying to convert DVD to Palm/Clie viewable mpgs. I had to use Quicktime 7 Pro to convert the DSC-M1 MP4's and then convert to TCPMP-playable mpg's, but the quality reduction was just too much.
For those interested: I now shoot my video on the Sony DSC-M1, transfer the movie from the memory stick pro duo to SD card using a Memorex Travellink transfer device and then view tham directly on my TX with TCPMP.
