So... I wonder, how many of us still use the UX series as our staple PDA?

I use my UX as my sole PDA. I have no other :)
The traitor Smeggie returns. Pretty active to me. :)

How much space does your 2GB get after formating? 1,990 MB?
And how many UXs have you had? Three, right? ;)
JAmerican

Yep. 1.9GB and 3 UXs. One works. Another doesn't charge. The other is DOA.

The UX is my main PDA, and god willing it will stay that way. I modded it to charge via USB (the one i bought didnt come with the JC40 cradle), but i think thats where ill stop for now, as id rather not kill it. The UX makes a great daily PDA for me, and since i switched the stock UX battery out with my TJ27 battery (yes, i know they are the same, but i had an after marketTJ battery, 1200mAH @ 4.2v) i get perfect battery life. Ive gone days (albeit with little wireless use) without charging. The Universal will probably be my next PDA though, either that or a Zaurus, but for now, the UX is here to stay.

360 MAH? Is that a big deal?
I have four 2,500 MAH 2AAs (which I use in my battery extender). Why can't we make a mod to make those the internal batteries? Imagine 10,000 MAH!!!

It would be too big though. Might have to settle for one or two... :(

I have looked inside the battery extender (I didn't break it!!! :D), and the main circuit board is pretty small. Might not be too hard to incorporate into the UX, but what the hell do I know? ;)

Where you get that battery from Robyr?? Is it the same as the UX in size? TH?

I bought a TJ27 second hand from a friend that was selling it on Amazon, and he had a battery made for it, its EXACTLY the same size as the UX battery. Also, there is a HUGE difference in 1200mAH @ 4.2V than 840 @ 3.7V higher current draw for longer times.

Wah, I wish I had the guts and know-how to do all that kind of stuff.. the farthest I got was making one of those AA battery chargers. :p
And I've rarely had to use it :( Thought that I would have needed it more, but I haven't used it much... the most useful it's been so far was when I needed to charge my UX40 without an outlet nearby.

Mine doesnt have that tape at the top, its a slim metal casing, all the way up. I think it was made locally, but its entirely possible they used that battery as a template, also, it has a current draw of 4.2V i honestly have no idea where the 3.7/4.2V fuzzy issues come from.

I'm not getting that then. Thats cool Robyr. Wish it was being sold. Someone would make a fortune. Not only from UXers but THers could combine like Two of them in their device. LOL. That would be sick.
I'm cool with my modded EB40 :). I didn't charge it one night and woke up to 100% still. LOL.

eh well i had a chance to buy an extended battery today but instead i spent my money on a toshiba e800 (i had a new idea for charging that i put in the diy battery post)... my ux50 is probably going to be my main pda since its keyboard is perfect for taking notes... but i kinda like to mix it up, i still use my t|3 for email and certain games and when my e800 arrives it will probably become my presentation manager...
and i'll probably use all three til they die... probably alongside any other electronics i amass

still using my UX with the mini-USB mod.
(even if someone thinks the UX is among the most disappointing PDA. I don't care, my favorite PDA was the HandEra which is in the same list.)

The UX40 is still my main PDA, but I've found that it's overall usage has decreased since I got a notebook.

I have a UX50 and a iBook. But my Clie does things my iBook can't do (fit in my pocket ;)). So I use both everyday. Clie 1/2 the day, iBook the other half :D

True, my notebook doesn't fit into my pocket. Though, my notebook follows me almost everywhere I go thoughout my day. Moreover, there's no sense in me taking notes on my UX40 anymore, since taking notes on the tablet is more natural.
Other thing, since I have to use a WiFi card for my UX40, it's much easier to just check my emails and stuff on my tablet since it's usually out and on anyways.

I don't have a WiFi connection at school, and can't bring my iBook. I can just use Bluetooth Dial-Up over my phone, and check my mail/go on the web. :)

The traitor Smeggie returns...Traitor HA!!! I have more UX loyalty in my pinkie finger than you do in your 16 year old body little man!! I can't help it if the Treo is a better business tool and that I got mine for free. So of us are just blessed that way. When you grow up, you might be as lucky as I am...
I still use the UX every day as a secondary calendar on my desk. It has been relegated to auxiliary duty, but it still gets used every day.

That was quite awhile ago, if I remember. A long with your EB40, and some Memory-Sticks (some with data, and, some with Family Guy episodes?)
