Hi,
I hope someone may be able to help. Is it possible to install POIS e.g speed camera / accident black spots etc on Mapopolis on a Palm. I know its possible with the Pocket PC version, but I don't think the Palm versions supports loading of POIS. Or is it possible to use some third party software to do this ? Any help would be a appreciated.

HI, bobulos56,
I don't think this is possible in the Palm Os 5 version because they changed from using separate "maplets" into integrating with the Palm address book.
And hey, welcome to the forums!

It is possible to use POIs, because if you add an address book entry with latitude and longitude in the first custom field, it is added automatically in the maps.
But it is not practical at all. I did it with the France speed cameras : You can take a file in GPS Passion that you can import into Excel, e.g. keep 3 colums, (1) the name of radar and speed limit, (2) latitude and longitude (in Mapopolis form), (3) a column with only "radar" in each cell.
Then you import it in Palm Desktop, name=(1), custom field 1=(2), category=(3). The cameras spots are added on maps, but like all POIs, just red squares.
I deleted them after one day, having thousands more entries in my address book just took too long to synchronize. If I could find a database such as "50 miles around home (Bordeaux)", up to date, then I would keep them in the address book.
