CLIE NX60 or TG50, why???????

Beside size, screen and price, what are the functional differences????

One has a 320*320 screen, and the other has a 320*480 screen. The TG50 also has some slightly tweaked programs compared to the NX series, like a sensitivity setting in the Voice Recorder program, a FlashPlayer that supports MP3 sound. One thing the TG50 has is Bluetooth, but the NX60 also supports Sony's WiFi WL100 card. It's your choice.

CF Slot in NX60 is a big plus.
Bluetooth in TG50 - OK, but give me WiFi instead.
Picsel Viewer included in TG50 nice, but not esential.

Apart from that, I'd say that size, screen, anbd price are significant differences. Personally, I'd go with the NX60.

... and picsel viewer can be put on your NX with little effort!

The TG50 is a gorgeous unit but the screen size and the WiFi of the NX 60 would be the determining factors for me.

Pay a little extra and get the NX70.I have seen so many posts-I love the NX60 but I wish I had bought the NX70.Prices are getting lower every day.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd buy the NX again. The TG50 is a very awesome unit. But the screen kills it for me. trying to view webpages is hard enough with a 320x480, let alone the small screen the TG has. Bluetooth is definitely a plus, but only if you have the need for Bluetooth. Besides, the NX can be upgraded to do everything the TG can, and then some.

I bought both the TG50 and the NX70V. The NX is great to play with, and for programs like Mapopolis, Repligo and Picsel Viewer...but I find the TG50 more "useful" in terms of a PDA. This is only my opinion...keep in mind I don't like grafiti...

My TG screen is brighter, but the build quality on the NX is much better than the TG (for instance, the battery door on the NX is metal, but plastic on the TG).

If I HAD to pick one over the other, I would keep the TG by a very very small margin. I'm keeping both.

Oh, Infosync reviews showed that the battery life of the two were comparable, but I find the battery on the TG lasts longer, even with the BT radio on.

I went through this same thing about two weeks ago. After comparing and playing with both models it came down to the screen for me. I really liked the screen on the NX. Now with the NX70 the same price as the NX60 I really think there is no decision to be made. Run and get yourself a NX70V!

If you really like the small form factor of the TG and need bluetooth then the TG50 is your machine.

If you want a great screen and wi-fi capability (and even a camera, a crappy camera but one nonetheless) then the NX is for you!

I can't stand thumb keyboards, so that would be the deciding factor for me. But since they're basically the same price right now, and the NX has a better screen, I'd go for it regardless.

I love my NX70V, and come my next PayDay I will be getting the WiFi card so I can HotSync and eventually get online. I don't have broadband in my area yet.

I went to CompUSA last weekend to buy a TG, but after looking at the NX60, which was priced at $349, I thought that it was a much better deal and an overall more versatile unit. Hey, same processor and RAM, MUCH bigger screen for 50 bucks less....a no brainer!

I moved from a TG50 to the NX70V for many reasons, but these were the main deciding factors;

Larger screen
WiFi Support
Inline Remote for MP3 playback
Future CF Card Support (fingers crossed).

I returned my old NX60 for a battery prob. There were none in stock, so I got a new NX70 intead. I wanted an NX60 since I have a real camera and the 70 camera is just a novelty (not really useful). I would get the NX60. The extra sreen space does make a difference with some important doc apps and of course games. Remember, the CF slot will have filesystem drivers soon, and CF will be around for a long time and will get cheaper and cheaper.
