Have many here tried Iambic's Agendus Mail application? I am a little surprised to find little mention of it here at 1src. I decided to give it a go this evening, after finally having enough of Clie Mail on my TH55. I was mostly looking for something which would handle Gmail and remembered I purchased Iambic Mail many moons ago. I stopped using Iambic Mail when I got my TH55, but I remember it always worked quite well on my TG50. Anyway, I got used to using ClieMail, and until recently was pretty much satisfied with it. Since, however, I find myself using Gmail more and more, and find it especially nice to access Gmail on the go, Clie Mail simply wasn't cutting it, since it has no SSL capability. When I went to Iambic to see if there was a more recent version of Iambic Mail than my old version, I was first a little surprised to learn that it no longer exists! However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I am eligible for Agendus and Agendus Mail deep discounts! I picked up Agendus Mail for only $10 (normally $50). Agendus is available to me for only $9, but I rarely use Clie Organizer, so I doubt Agendus would be any more useful for me.

To make a long story short, for anyone looking for a good SSL email client for your Palm device, I strongly recommend checking out Agendus Mail SSL Edition. (http://www.iambic.com/emailssl/palmos/) It has, thus far worked flawlessly for me. I had all my pop-able email accounts set up in just a couple of minutes, including Gmail. The interface is easy, kind of windows explorer-ish, and with a good wireless internet connection, the mail download times are very fast, even with file attachments.

I am only using the Palm based Agendus Mail utility. There is also a Window's companion app which I have yet to try.

I'm not a power wireless email user (due to lack of business travel), but I have used Agendus Mail for years and it works quite well. I've even used it over a dialup connection (Verizon Wireless) at 14.4K and it still performs acceptibly - not real slow and not real fast. In that mode, I usually block attachments. Otherwise, it handles attachments very well. ;)

I just started using Agendus Mail SSL recently. I have no need / desire for over-the-air updates but I did want to carry recent emails with me, so I was looking for an email solution with hotsync capability. Agendus is the only one I've found -- Palm helpfully removed the hotsync capability from VersaMail somewhere between my T3 version and my Treo version, presumably to maximize carrier profits.

I find the client adequate, but the conduit does not have enough flexibility in what it downloads. I would like to specify how much of each email message to download -- like the first 2K perhaps. No can do. All I can do is limit the date range.

Worse, the conduit has some sort of memory leak issue which causes the amount of space taken up on the Palm to grow and grow, seemingly unrelated to how many messages are being stored. Dunno if this would occur for wireless syncs as well since I never do them, but common sense says it likely would.

So, not perfect, but the only game in town for my intended usage, so I put up with workarounds for the weaknesses.
