I have a Clie NX70V/U and love all the things it can do.... however.... is it able to work on a streets and trips program with a gps, like a tomtom system for instance? If it is possible than the next question is how would i go about expanding the memory to be able to store complex street maps for all of North America?

You can use a memorystick for the maps, I did the cf hack and have all of US and Canada on cf cards, works like a charm. If you have a cf gps device, try the largest ms and put the maps on that.

Search the forums one evening for more information. I recall one of the forum members is using an NX as a GPS and MP3 player in his car. The NX charges while it operates. Really a fascinating setup he must have. I do not rmember the exact thread where I read this information.

As to expanding memory...move as many apps to external memory as possible using a third-party launcher. This will free up some RAM. Check into JackFlash (www.brayder.com). The NX-70 may have some free flash memory that you can use. Lastly, I concur with tkellogg's post to use one of the free CF hacks that allow you to store and retrieve apps and databases on the CF Card. Try http://members.lycos.co.uk/boba73/cfutility/ and http://usagiya.g-com.ne.jp/mini/mp/minipatchEN.htm.
