i know this is an extremely old topic... but i still havent gotten any satisfactory replies yet, and im already quite annoyed that no matter how may trials ive done; i really cant successfully sync DocsToGo between an NX and two computers...
even referring to the DocsToGo manual didnt offer any relief...
could anyone sort-of teach me on how to proceed to sync DocsToGo with two pcs, and what are the things that i should avoid...
thanks in advanced...
ps:
here is what i do... i wish someone could point out what im doing wrong here...
1. i install DocsToGo in my home computer
2. synch it with my NX (the home computer)
3. install DocsToGo in my office computer
4. synch it with my NX (the office computer) - the files in my NX are created in my office computer
5. copy the original documents (from the home computer) over to the office computer
6. synch it with my NX (the office computer)
7. then when i synch my NX with the home computer, ALL formatting, embedded graphics, etc. are lost from the original documents

For the office PC, set the custom option(DTG) on hotsync to Handheld override Desktop.
For the home PC, set the option9DTG) on hotsync to Desktop override Handheld.
That helps WP, but it doesn't solve the problem of wanting to modify the file on both PC's. I have the same problem that CW has, as well as constantly getting multiple files with _1, _2, etc.

i really hope someone could provide an answer - something usually based on experience since the manual doesnt provide much help...
it really is difficult to maintain documents (personal and business) when you spend most of your time restoring them to the original format...
however, i do quite remember that this didnt happen when i was using an older version of DocsToGo (say version 4.0)...
hhhhmmmm....

What I did is to install D2G on my office computer, selected the files to transfer (using the sync setting). All docs went to my TG50. I then installed D2G on my home computer, set it to sync w/handheld. All the files on my Clie were transferred to my home computer. So now I have three identical sets of documents, one on each computer and one on the Clie. Anytime I make any changes at the office, I ensure that I re-sync at home ASAP, usually that night. The only thing I do different is at work I use MS Outlook 2000, and at home I use the Palm Desktop (no need for too much sophisticated stuff at home). The files I an transferring are Word and Excel docs, no multimedia or anything. I am using D2G 5.0.4 Platinum or some such buzz word.

but if you do not adjust your conduit settings, you will inevitably lose the more recent version..or, at very least, have the document_1 renaming problem.
I just learned to live with the renaming issue. This is the only complaint I have with an otherwise indispensible program.
FWIW, I wish they would just have each document tagged with a 'last edited' date, and always update to the most current.
Hear our pleas, DataViz!
