LauncherX Dead?

I emailed the LauncherX people to ask if there were any updates coming and if development was still going on sometime last week, but no answer. (I'm a registered user) Thats sad. I'd like to see more development behind it and more innovation but if it's stalled out I think it may be time to look into other launchers.

Well if you remember all the hype about LauncherX & it took nearly a year from hype to release. I won't expect an update before June!

Well after recurring problems I gave it today and completely uninstalled LauncherX. I will try it again if there is an update but somehow things got corrupt. ZLauncher looks just fine and I'm fine tuning it now. I love the background capability but then again, things look so cluttered and busy with the backgrounds....

I ended up switching to ZLauncher because of the lack of development in Launcher X. True, Zlauncher doesn't have everything I would want (like manual sorting of apps which is handy when you used the jogdial to launch apps) but then again neither does Launcher X. But at least with Zlauncher, the development cycle and the response to customer requests gives me hope that what I would like to see implimented might actually be implimented within my lifetime.

personally, i bought launcher x never expecting to see an update. it has all i want in a launcher.

Benc is ignoring you. It took me several months of emails to every address I could find, a ton of *****ing and moaning on LauncherX fan sites, and complaining to Palmgear to get any sort of response from him. And that was for a simple regkey! I know of at least a dozen other individuals that have registered LX but can't use it because Benc won't support them. Now imagine all of the people who don't frequent these boards that are having the same problem.

But hey, he raised the price! Business must be going well for him.

LauncherX was all I wanted in a launcher, but its "issues" with JackFlash caused me to switch to ZLauncher. I haven't looked back. ZLauncher continues to evolve at a fast pace, and with v3, I couldn't be happier.

What are LauncherX's issues with JackFlash?

For some reason, on my NX70V, I would have fatal errors every time I tried to access LauncherX. I forget which thread this was in, but several others experienced the problem. Maybe it has been foxed with the most recent version of JackFlash, I don't know. All I know is that I had to do no less than three or four hard resets to get things "back to normal." As a stop-gap measure (because I wanted to use JackFlash) I tried ZLauncher, and realized that it would do exactly what I wanted and then some.

I see, must be an NX thing. I have LauncherX in flash on my T615 with no problems.

There is a problem with Launcherx where the Launcherx Database reachs its maximum size it will cause fatal errors. This database stores all of your preferencesincluding which catagories everything is in. The only solution is to delete the database and start over. You might want to also try lowering the amount of icons it has to add to the database.

Why anyone would use any launcher other than ZL is beyond me. Give it a try and then give it a buy.

I used to really like Launcher III, Launch'Em and even LauncherX. I got tired of the LX situation regarding support and themes, so I reluctantly tried MegaLauncher, SilverScreen, and then ZLauncher.

Wow! I was impressed with Zlauncher and all the skins available. The support is great and features are supurb. I'm not looking back.
