NZ Status Bar Question

I've been using Wondersilk for awhile now, for my Virtual Graffiti area. Works great as far as I'm concerned.

I've seen here in ClieSource ..... a bunch of STATUS-BAR replacements (bottom-most little bar area on the clie).

I did a little checking and searching and someone said.. to use a program called 'okey'. I went and searched PalmGear for it and the web, and the only thing I really could find for Okey was an app on palmgear which seemed to be some 'jog-dial' thang... but not an status-bar replacement tool/utility/hack.

What do I need to d/l and install .... to be able to replace the standard status-bar skin with something else????? That is compatible with the skins here in ClieSource?

Currently, I don't believe any apps will do status bars on the NZ. Photoskin works on the NX's, but Sony changed the status bars slightly and currently Photoskin won't work. If you follow the intructions on my website (http://cbulock.iwarp.com/nx/vg/#UsingSkins) , you can manually install the skin. But I have heard that the battery display won't work correctly (I think thats the part Sony changed on the skins).

iceman - that's why I use YiShow as my launcher... so I can have pretty background screens all the time. and since I've always got my VG miminized to see my pictures, I gave up on trying to skin.

the whole skinning concept was cool when the NR first came out, but if you're going to enjoy the whole screen , why bother? :)

well... I use the wondersilk app... as mentioned above.... I'm more curious... as to what application is out there to use the SKINS for the status bar which are located in the FILES section of wondersilk. Does PhotoSkin (even if it doesn't work for the NZ) give the ability to use the skins posted here? If not... what application does?

I do understand... that there are issues around the NZ and the status bar. I would guess whatever software is out there for the status-bar replacements... will be upgraded at some point in time.

I guess more of a curiosity than anything else at the present time. If there is a status-bar replacement proggie for the NZ I'd sure like to get a hold of it.

I tend to like Wondersilk more than PhotoSkin based on what I've seen about photoskin. With Wondersilk I can have up to 40 icon assignments.... where It doesn't seem Photoskin can even come close to that number of Icons/assignments.

I am currently using zLauncher for a launcher replacement,

I have full-screen graphics as well as the background.

The nice thing.... with the VG area... is I can create the VG area to work with the background pic. If I have my VG area minimized.. the pic looks full screen.

If I pull up my VG area ... it can use the background pic.. and also use the VG area to make the picture look just as complete as if the VG area was down (dunno if that make sense to you or not).

I lighten up the VG area a bit ... so it is easy to use the VG area. But the pic that is used cut from the orig 320x480 pic ... so it seemelessy continues.

I like the VG area as well.. because of the number of apps I can launch from it based on the skins I've created.

Not a huge deal... just have seen all kindsa skins out there for the status bar... and was curious if I could continue the skins down even MORE to the status bar area and use that for a true 320x480 look

Um....I'm using photoskins on my NZ and got the status bar to swap same as my NX.

Skinset I bought was from Handango - one of mythomania's (brushed metal something or other). No issues other than in the status bar section on photoskins, it doesn't always appear. I found out through the site here to tap where I thought the skin "should" be and voila'! Changed mine on the first day.

I use 320x480 graphics .... I create the background to be 320x480 .... then in my VG area... it is 320x130 pixels

Basically... taking the 320x480 pic... going down to the 0x320 pixel... selecting that pixel and a rectangle making it 320x130 .... moving that into Wondermaker... and doing a lot after that. Anyhooooooooooo nuff of that stuff... I dunno if I was answering Bo's question or not.

Basically... if the VG area is down... you see the pic normally as the background... However if the VG is up... it 'overlays' the correct selection on the background Pic ... giving it 'continuance' from the 0x0-320x320 rectangular area to 0x0-320x450 rectangular area ..... dunno if this makes sense... I outta just post a pic.... to make it easier... LOL.

I can do what I'm currently doing..... my question is more.... is there something where I could finish the continuation of a picture down into the STATUS-BAR area of the PDA?

I've got the background, and the graffiti area down..... just need to find a hack or something.... to get into the status bar area (photoskin doesn't seem to be the way to go... if the status bar area often times doesn't show up). .......

Maybe I'll just hava 2 wait till something is developed.
