$50/yr for the membership. You'd need to spend $500 / yr just to get your $$'s worth back. I've heard good and slightly more bad about Handango's customer service, so I'm left wondering if the VIP is any better than their standard service (in principle, shouldn't we ALL be getting VIP service?). The newsletter just sounds like more spam, altho I suppose there could be some exclusive promos there. Until the coming comes, that's nothing.

Is there something terribly obviously good I'm missing with this deal? It's been on my mind for a while now.

Don't know. I never even thought about "joining" the program. I kind of dislike Handango for a number of reasons, and since I don't spend $500 a year on handheld software any more, it wasn't even a question. I don't feel like I'm missing anything.
