I attempted to launch Silver Screen from PowerRun. There was not enough internal memory and now I'm caught in an endless cycle. I get the message "No Memory left on Palm internal to load appication from Memory card. Even after a soft or warm reset, when I hit the home buttonI get the debug message "Can't launch appication/palm/Programs/PowerRun/silver/Error code=0x0201. I tried removing Silver Screen to my computer, using an empty memory stick, and even the dreaded hard reset, but there is no change. thanks.

If you take the memory card out, do a hard reset, you're still caught in the loop? That doesn't make sense to me. You you have anything installed in Flash memory?

Yes, I have JackFlash installed. Would that cause a problem? It appears that my clie does not hard reset. And with the card out, the message is to insert the card to run PowerRun. And maybe when I even warm reset that does not happen. The soft reset does work.

I have just found it possible to hard reset. But is this necessary to solve my problem?

Yes, it should help.

Once you've done a hard reset, you don't want to re-install everything via hotsync or backup restore, as it sounds like something is corrupted, somewhere.

The best thing to do, in my opinion, would be a hard reset, then reinstall EVERYTHING fresh. (I also recommend re-downloading the software...) You'll need to rename your backup directory under your user name (on your PC) so any corrupted apps are not put back when you hotsync.

PowerRun, to work correctly, needs to be in your main memory. Not flash, not MS.

Whatever launcher you use should be in main memory as well. Some work OK in flash, but I would ask to see if their are any known conflicts with your launcher of choice before putting it there (ZL does fine in flash on my NX). I would not, under any circumstances put the Launcher you're using in PowerRun. Bad things will happen (as you've seen...)

Hope this helps.

The hot syn works so I'm backed up with that. I just bought Backup Man (waitng for the code) and installed it on my Clie. But I have no way of accessing it on the clie.

You need to keep a copy of Backupman on your memory stick in the Palm Launcher folder. Backupman let me down today as it didn't restore everything, good thing I had backed up with MS Backup too.

BTW, I keep some backups on a separate stick besides. A 16 or 32mb is not too expensive.

I would like to know also...I have used backupman several times to get out of a tight spot and did full restores.

First, congrats on your 3,000th post ;)!

It happened when I was beta testing a small app that OcellNuri was having trouble with this morning. I launched the app and that corrupted my RAM after a fatal error. I was left with no choice, but to do a hard reset.

For starters, Backupman would not restore the Sony updates or the WiFi driver. Other settings were also not restored, but it the midst of a major crisis, I don't remember which ones. So I ended up doing a combination of restores using Backupman, MS Backup and the desktop backup. Then I reinstalled ZL v3.001, but that wasn't the cause of the crash. Additionally I wasn't the only one in said beta testing group who was having trouble with Backupman. That individual contacted the developer and the developer said due to some technical reasons, not all files will be restored :(!

BTW, I did have multiple backups on two separate sticks.

Why not do the up button reset, bypass the launcher, and delete the silverscreen files?

Thanks! However, I already gritted my teeth and did the hard reset. Luckily, some applications were on the memory stick, others in the flash, others on the desktop backup, and the rest I had saved the registration codes and reloaded. Life is good and no sleep was lost.

I don't know, even a hard reset didn't fix it, according to the original post.
