A small number of Palm TX handhelds were shipped with the label on the back referring to Bluetooth 1.2 . The Palm TX handheld is officially a Bluetooth 1.1 compliant device. An errata sheet accompanies the wrongly labeled handhelds. [details (http://www.1src.com/?m=show&id=1308)]

I checked my TX and true enough it says "Bluetooth 1.2"

I also went through my documents pack and found the errata sheet which I didn't notice before.

That sucks. Why not just include v1.2 in the device??

sorry, uninformed bluetooth question.... but, what's the difference between 1.1 and 1.2? is this a big deal?

I saw the errata sheet when I opened the box the first time and have the 1.2 label as well.

Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth#Bluetooth_1.1) on Bluetooth for those with questions.

Bluetooth 1.2 can handle much more including stereo haeadphones.

The only thing that was tempting me turns out to be a mistake.

Same thing here, mine is mislabeled.

I don't know if it's just an impression, but the BT connection between my T|X and a BT 1.2 dongle, as well a SonyEricsson k750i (that is BT2.0 compliant) seems to be faster than using my old T|T5 with the same two devices.

Bluetooth 1.2 can handle much more including stereo haeadphones.

Bluetooth 1.1 can handle stereo headphones with the hi-fi audio profile (not supported in any PDA AFAIK). The most important thing that 1.2 adds is adaptive frequency hopping, because a lot of people were complaining that Bluetooth is not a good citizen on the 2.4Ghz ISM band. The way 1.1 works, a BT Network could possibly degrade the performance of nearby 802.11 networks and 2.4Ghz phones.

They did add a profile for a higher quality two way voice connection with 1.2, but like any profile, if it's not implemented by the device manufacturer you can't use it.

where are you finding where it's listed as 1.2? I'd just like to see what mine is.

Ok, I was looking for the BT icon that is usually on the back. Mine also says 1.2:), oh well. Class action suit like the ipod nano owners? Only kidding:)

All in all, I wouldn't call this a deal breaker for me.
It still seems like a decent handheld.
