I've had an sj33 for about a month now with a 128 Lexar Translucent MS. Today I cannot get any info off or onto the MS. I get a ms error and am told to check the MS media. Well, its there in its slot, the write protect is off but it doesn't seem to work. How do I tell if the problem is with the stick or with the pda? Any help would be appreciated.

Try using Msmount & see if you can mount the Clie with the stick in it. You haven't used the memory stick in a seperate reader by any chance ? I found a strange thing that happens; when I access the stick with my Sandisk combo reader if I switch from the default directory & don't switch back before putting it in my Clie it shows up as having no data & needing to be formatted. Changing back to the directory with the reader fixes the problem. I've had a Lexar memory stick for about 4 months & it's never given me any problems.

I don't have a reader so that can't be it. What is Msount? How do you know if you need to reformat the ms and how do you do that?

Msmount is a program that comes with the Clie. It allows you to mount the Clie so it will show up as a removable drive on your PC. You can then work with the memory stick just like any other drive. The program is on the applications CD that comes with your Clie. Can you access the stick at all, say with the "Card Info" application on the Clie ? Otherwise you'll have to find another stick to determine whether the problem is the Clie or the stick I guess.
