I have an NR70V, which I am very happy with. I upgraded to the NR70X programs, so everything is hires+. I have several functions that require me to use OS9 at this time, so booting in OS X is not a great option for me.
The trouble is my NR70V is on the blink. The left hinge has been acting up for months, and this week it's started to squeak. I've used this machine heavily, but it has not been abused. I am a little sorry it's been less than the usual Sony build.
I did purchase the Best Buy replacement plan, and I will be heading there shortly. Here's my dilemna, as Best Buy no longer carries the NR70V:
The NR70V works flawlessly with mac os 9 using the missing sync, but they say the NX70 requires 2.2.2 which is in beta mode and was due out last Nov. Does anyone have access to 2.2.2 beta or know how I could it if I switch to an NX70?
I am one of those best buy plan customers that finds upgrades troublesome sometimes. I read with great dismay the abuses that make it harder on us that really need to use the plan.
