I'm switching from my beloved NX70 to my new TX and the first thing I notice are the following problems:

1) if I connect the TX directly via USB I get a message error from WinXP as if it is missing some files. Why is this happening? I'm only connecting the TX without expecting the two devices to communicate. If I do this with the NX70 nothing, as expected.
This is a problem also when I try to use the Card Export since it keeps poping the same installation message. I don't understand since I believe I should be able to use the palm's card as an external drive on any computer even where the Palm Desktop is not installed

2) If I try to upgrade Palm desktop from the Sony I have I get an error message because the language is different than that of the operating system, but I have no way to choose the language from the setup process.

Anyone can help me on this?

thank you very much

i had this driver-problems, too. Install a second time and clean the registry before. Now connect the device before installing PalmDesktop. make sure, not to connect the device via USB-Hub. Use always the direct USB-Ports when installing peripherials.

Ok, thank you. I will try this. Do you happen to know any utility which cleans all registry items associated with old installation in a proper way?

Thank you very much Joavin. I've cleaned my registry but I still have the same problem. I also tried with another PC where no SW from Palm has ever been installed.

Now.... how can it be that you connect the TX to PC (WinXP) via USB and the following happens:

- TX automatically turn on
- Win recognises a "Palm Handeld" but then prompts for "new hardware installation" and tries to look for software

I only want to connect the Palm to any PC and use CardExport to share the SD. Is everyone having this problem?

THANK YOU

In order to use the TX in Card Export or DriveMode you should turn on Card Export first then plug it into a usb port. The PC will recognize it as a usb mass storage device and not as a Palm unit while Card Export or Drive Mode is on.

Same problem.... mmmmmmm.....

What happens if you connect your TX to a PC (w/o Palm SW installed) via USB cable? Does is do something or just sits there?
