How do you "refresh apps" in zlauncher to make new icons from appicon to appear? I posted in an early thread and got an e-mail that someone responded, but the thread appears to be gone.

There's an icon in the tool bar... plus you can do it from the menu.
Tools menu > Options > Refresh Apps (at the bottom)
Or as mentioned by hherbzilla you can configure an incon on your bottom toolbar, (compact mode) to do it. (two arrows configured in a circle similar to the hotsync symbol)

AppIcon doesn't work on apps that are located on the MS. I does work great for Apps in local RAM.

I do not have a refresh application in my menu bar. Under options it says prefrence, display setup, color set up, and category setup . I have an nx does this make a difference?

There is a drop down menu item called Bottom Bar Setup (or Top & Bottom Bar Setup in version 2.2). There you can setup the icons you want to appear on the bottom bar. Just drag any icon from the selection above to the position you wish the icon to appear on the bottom of the screen.
You probably are in Tab mode which is probably why you can't see the Refresh Apps button. To change to Compact mode go to Options>ZL Preferences and choose Compact from the top drop down menu f that window.
Sheena, you must be running an *ancient* version of zLauncher...at least 3 weeks old! :D (I know its hard to keep up with a developer so responsive!)
I am running 2.2 and under my tool menu > Options menu I have listed:
-------------------------
ZLPreferences
Display Setup
Color Setup
Dialog Setup
Category Setup
Quicklaunch setup
Top & Bottom bar setup
Hardbutton setup
Icon setup
-------------------------
Theme Manager
-------------------------
Refresh Apps
-------------------------
It is this last option you want (or graffiti stroke F)
Or configure your bottom bar in compact mode with the refresh icon per Breakfastchef's message.
